Those ZANEY Saints!!
Yesterday I bought an NFL video cassette from one of those used video places entitled: 100 great Football Follies. The 1st picture on the back had a Saints player so I found that fuunny and got it. Little did I know that not only were the Saints in the video but they had their OWN segment entitled: Those Zaney Saints. Here is an overview of the 5 min segment I thought some of you might enjoy.
Narrator: " If the Dallas Cowboys are Americas team, Then the New Orlean Saints are the poster children of the Football Follies world! What these guys have gone through...shouldn't even happen to a dog! " ( Clips of several Saints mishaps ) " The Saints have been piling up the Follies since the early days in Tulane stadium, when Billy Kilmer was directing passes to some questionably placed landscaping." ( Clip of Kilmer throwing a complete pass to an endzone BUSH! ) "Even after moving to the superdome, The Saints still didn't have a prayer" ( Clip of the Saints losing to ATL in OT due to a faulty snap into the endzone. ) " Archie Manning has been at the epicentre of most of these Saints disasters" ( Clip of an Archie Manning interview where they show a typical Saints play for that year. He recalls playing the Bears and having the ball at their one yd line. Manning dives for the score but the ball is fumbled and all players mad scramble for it. It gets kicked around and fallen on like 5 times and ends up Bears ball at the 40 yd line opposed to the 1 where the play started!) :casstet: " In their 1st 20 years the Saints never had a winning record, but that all changed in the same season this play changed their fortunes." ( Clip of a Saints, LA Rams game. QB #11 Throws an INT and the Rams run it back 20 yds or so. They fumble but still manage to recover! They run it another few yds when Saints # 80 strips the ball and it ends up back in the Qb #11 hands and he runs it back for a Saints TD!) :D That ends the Segment, but I thought it funny that after all these years.....Not much has changed. ;) " |

80? In 1987? Hill maybe. 11 could have been John Fourcade.

#11 John Fourcade that was the guy! I couldn\'t pick up what the announcer had said. It was quite the play. |

Was the WR Lorenzo Hill? Lorenzen Hill... something like that? ] #80 who came back to strip the ball, was on the left side of the field, but you couldn\'t see his name? The announcer never mentioned who stripped it, Sorry? Bugs me too when I can\'t figure out a player I know! :casstet: |
