I'd say Al-Quadin Muhammad just because of where he was drafted. Don't expect much from a 6th rounder.

Kamara is this years Michael Thomas. The only thing that may prevent him from shining to that level would be the crowded/talented backfield he is in

Our new LT is about to shine. :bng:

Knowing this offense, I wouldn't be surprised as the Sproles-back that Kamara sets new marks for Rookie All-Purpose Yardage & Scoring, everything is aligning for him to be successful...

I voted for Lattimore. I didn't want him to feel left out. If his feelings get hurt, he might be out another 2 or 3 weeks. Lol.

Re: ESPN.com: Alvin Kamara off to fastest start among Saints rookies

Kamara has really strong lower body strength (see long yard gain vs Cleveland) & he keeps his legs moving. He also appears to run good routes.

I see a kid with uncanny vision & balance. Personally, I don't see us waiting for the 3 year mark to evaluate his draft position.

You are really asking this question after 1 preseason game?
Are you freaking kidding me?

Went with the Big Boy LT Ryan Ramczyk, Wisconsin.

I went with Lattimore but only because he was projected top and the Saints got him at 11. At this point there's really no way to know which of these guys is going to break out. I'm hoping they all do.

Yea but we have solid solid depth there. When Ingram gets his turf toe injury of the year he will have his chance to shine.

Kamara will be contributing day one, my friend. It will not take an injury that you expect in your sick little negative mind (nothing personal there :-)) to give him the opportunity to shine.

Kamara is now our Sproles-back; expect him to lead the team in All-Purpose Yardage from Scrimmage...

That is exactly what I expect. That why I drafted him in the first round of my dynasty league. We score all special teams individual stats. Fourteen teams, 23 keepers, IDP.

FS Marcus Williams is my pick. after what I saw in Cleveland I am still excited by the pick. Then again it was against the brownies and that says little about the played that did show well.

real post season starts this week

A guy like Williams, if he performs as he projects, will have his best games against the more prolific passing teams where they'll be more opportunities as opposed to the Browns which clearly aren't at this time...

Because injuries don't happen especially to RBs. We can count on Payton for his word too.

Been high on him since seeing him in the Browns game. This kid has some good instincts. He's going to be a very good one for us

Well, I truly hope upon hope it's Lattimore given the health state of our CB's, and a great LT is worth their weight in gold, but I chose Alvin (!) because I think he's really going to flourish here in NO.

the most value... I don't care who you are its on D and CB.
Just an able body is worth their weight in gold at this point.

Re: ESPN.com: Alvin Kamara off to fastest start among Saints rookies

In all fairness, I posted a graphic a couple of weeks ago I guess that showed CB's as the most injured player league wide every year. We had an extra special bad year last year, but what we are seeing now is more likely the norm from other fan's viewpoints.

I always say

The more the merrier

Avoid those with the same reoccurring injury

He seems to run a lot more like a Marcus Allen/Robert Smith type of back than a shifty Barry Sanders/Sproles type of back.

I'll take either.

Re: ESPN.com: Alvin Kamara off to fastest start among Saints rookies

A faster Pierre Thomas, IMHO.

His upside based on splash plays may be a Thurman Thomas... yeah, I know its way way way way too early for that type of absurd comparison.

But dayum that kid flashes greatness does't he?

Re: ESPN.com: Alvin Kamara off to fastest start among Saints rookies

Reading this post made me wonder when was the last time the Saints had that much rookie talent. Potentially five rookie starters is exciting but also a bit sobering as to how low we fell.

We miss PT more than most know. A faster PT? Honey, hush!

Kamara is built and runs like Chris Johnson-type of back...

As our Sproles-back, you can bet our scheduled foes and division rivals are gonna be very aware of him this season...

Re: ESPN.com: Alvin Kamara off to fastest start among Saints rookies

I don't know if you can consider a first round pick a "Value" considering where Lattimore was picked he HAS to be a difference maker right away. Almost the same for Ram. Given their injuries I'm definitely not calling them value picks.
Looks like all our value may be in the 3rd round. Kamara is definitely a difference maker in a position that is deep. Anzalone will contribute and may be a hell of a player by mid season.

It kind of shows you how the NFL has changed. Running backs are now somewhat expendable. QBs, DBs and OL get more draft day attention. The AK's of the world ofter go under the radar. I think what many missed is that Kamara may be the most prolific receiver - running combo back in quite some time.

Re: ESPN.com: Alvin Kamara off to fastest start among Saints rookies

The most important guy in this draft is The guy that keeps Drew Brees from getting blindsided, Ramczyk. If he stays up, and he keeps up, we succeed.
Without him I don't know.

That's said, Look at that little Meggett Run !
(that's a clean Chris Berman reference, for those of you searching for a reason to get sensitive ). Alvin Kamara is pure excitement-- reggie and Pierre combined! I'm looking forward to the screen again!

Yeah we definitely need Ram to be successful, but I suspect he will have his growing pains as well. Clearly Barnes is not the answer...Bryce is even worse. Ram played pretty well last game. He got beat once or twice, but he was going against some talented DE's. Will have some growing pains, but yes we need him to be successful. I wonder if Unger will play tonight

By all accounts he's so far ahead of the curve that Payton just wanted Ingram and Peterson to get the reps.
