That's also stupid of chic fil a. What incentive is there for them to open a location there if they are closed on Sunday? The lease is outrageous and they will lose millions in sales a year just because they want to close for one day.

I like it from the family point of view. Nice for families to spend time. I think businesses need to stop with all the hours. There are not even holidays anymore.

Sincerely, the only person on this board that is consistently and unrelentingly negative is you. All you do is *****. Here's a concept, seriously, if you don't like people's point of view keep it moving or simply counter their argument. Constantly *****ing about other people is more negative than the supposed Saints board negativity you're on a Christ like Crusade to end.

I began entertaining you again recently because for a short period you had stopped your stupid asinine BS. Since you cannot control yourself I am now convinced you're just an angry, negative, narcissistic DB who I am back to ignoring.

I have no idea why, from any business perspective, you would put any kind of restaurant in a football stadium, and close it on the day they play. It makes no sense.

But what on earth does "bible thumping" have to do with anything? While we're at it, why don't you define what that even is? I suppose your opinions and beliefs are of the non "thumping" variety, right?

What is stupid is to think that a $1.2B stadium is going to function only on Sundays, 30 hours a year. It'll be used for conventions, concerts, sporting events ( it'd also be the home of the Atlanta FC), private events, there are guided tours... the bars, restaurants, shops, etc in there are not going to be closed 6 days out of the week either... that would be stupid :)

As for Chick-Fil-A being "Bible thumpers", they are not. My younger son loves Chick-Fil-A. We have been getting chicken sandwiches just about twice a week for years now, and no one has ever asked me to talk about Jesus.

I actually appreciate what they do, closing on Sundays. Mr. Cathy, by all accounts, was a good man, who cared about people and his employees, so much that he decided to close his restaurants on Sunday to allow his employees to attend church and be with their families. I may be an atheist heathen, but I admire that.

People in this business know going into it that sundays, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, etc are work days. It's different for kids who are doing it for extra income but they can request certain days off and leave Sunday's and holidays to people who really need the money.
Doesn't really matter to me but opening a restaurant in a stadium and closing the one day that you would make 80-90% of your sales for the year just isn't bright.
Not like chick fil a is gonna go broke or anything but I just don't see the point of the contract.

Sure they will open for other things but a VAST majority of their sales potential is going down the drain. Sundays bring a packed house guaranteed 8 times a year or more (hopefully only eight).
They close on Sundays for religious reasons as much as family values. They have also openly criticized people whose "values" don't meet their political, social, and religious ideals.
If they want to make a statement about their values and sacrifice that much capitol I do however respect that. I just think it's dumb.
If they care so much give the extra hours to the single moms and dads who don't suck up welfare and can really use the money. Or donate it.
These social, religious, and family value thing is all part of their marketing strategy. Nothing more

I normally try to keep things civil, but you are making it really hard... so I'll leave you with this: you can't say you respect something, then in the next sentence say it's dumb. Clearly, you don't respect it.

So in order to respect something you need to agree with it? Wow.

No, you don't need to agree with it. But when you demean something, as in calling something "dumb", obviously there is no respect.

This statement shows why you aren't in a marketing or advertising profession. The company is privately owned and just paid for advertising in every sports channel for weeks...

For those saying that the stadium will be used for other things; of course it will. But football is always going to be it's main use, by far. So it just doesn't make sense to put a Chick-fil-A in there for the scattered little events that take place throughout the year. It's just weird.

I am fine with them wanting to let their employees go to church, if that is the reason for closing on Sunday. I just think if that was your plan, then you really didn't need to have a location inside that stadium. That's just my opinion.

Yeah but they will lose 25% revenue vs a chicken competitor that sales 7 days a week or 4 football days.

Then I saw that it was somehow already posted on my first try. The internet is a frustrating place.

Frustrating, but ever more necessary. It's amazing how dependent we have become on it and it has just been around for a relatively short period. Not sure if that is good or bad.

The revenue from 52 lost days of business is irrelevant to CFA. The company places values above monetary gain.NO one's 'opinion' will move them from their stance and I for one appreciate a company that delivers quality products, POLITE service and gives back to it's community.

I know what they stand for, and I happen to stand with them. But business is still business. If a regular location wants to shut down on Sundays, that's perfectly fine and not a big deal. When you have a location in a building that is only open part time, it makes no sense. Why not just open another restaurant in a normal location that can be open 6 days a week, and have Sunday off, instead of going through the trouble of opening one up in a stadium and closing the restaurant on the stadium's busiest days?

I don't think this is an unreasonable question. I'm not taking anything away from Chick-fil-A, as a whole. But this particular instance just doesn't add up.

I really like what we have seen in terms of movement from companies in recognizing that families need time too. I think they really led the way there. Now you're starting to see more places closing for black Friday or opening regular hours. I don't think people should be working on major holidays, just my opinion. It is better for society to be home and for families to enjoy time together. Just my opinion.

Adding that I hope CFA continues to do this since the founding owner ,Mr.Cathay, is deceased,if I am not mistaken. I hope the adult heirs keep it like that........

plus I WANT to make sure CFA stays closed on AtlFalcons gameday in their fancy stadium because I am football mean like that:bandg:

Also, to consider:

* Chick-Fil-A is moving its College Kickoff games to the Clowndome.
* Its sponsored bowl, the Peach Bowl, will also take place there
* College Gameday is moving there too.
* The Clowndome has employees who work a regular work week too.
* The stadium is set up to be a convention center.

And who knows, may be that CFA makes an exception and opens on Sunday during Clown game days.

So put your imaginary MBAs away.
