this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; from an ESPN online chat... Lindsey (SC): Heard anything from the Saints? We could use some help at LB...Geaux Tigers!!! Thomas Davis : Definately. The Saints seem to be very interested. I'm flying to New Orleans on Monday. http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=7692...

The only problem I see getting Davis is that we\'d still be weak at SLB. I think our two best LB\'s are Watson and Bockwoldt. And all the talk is about picking a LB that\'ll compete with them.
Who are some good 2nd/3rd round SLB prospects? Blackstock maybe? |

i think crowder and burnett will be gone by #40. blackstock would fit the bill and be a good value in the 2nd rd. demarcus ware looks like a bit of a project to me. michael boley or rian wallace in the 3rd maybe.

I keep reading good things about wallace and boley...
I\'m just hoping we get another second or late first to get burnett and then possibly get ruud--yeahthat would be a young LB core..but imagine Burnett and watson outside, and ruud clogging up the middle for the next 3-4 years easily. then say thomas davis and smith as safeties with mckenzie, thomas, brown and craft as the CB...grant and smith as DE-then magically sully gets motivated... a hell of a defense my freind, a hell of a defense. |
