thomas trade rumors?

There ahs been talk of thomas being shopped--specifically to the browns-what do you think we could get for him and would this be a good trade?

I would wait, i think this guy is gunna have a turnaround season and be starting within the first few weeks, the guys mom started her battle with cancer and from what i hear that really affected him. I think we should keep him on, if not he could prolly only draw a 5th or 6th rounder at best, but more realistically a 7th

I don\'t know why you would trade him. He\'s cheap (isn\'t he?), but he\'s old (34 or 35 now I think??), is vastly undersized, and is coming off of injury.

His trade value is crap, but if he turns it around, he could be valuable. Then again, I doubt he will beat out Craft or Brown for the #2 or nickel.

I see him as the nickel or the dime.

McKenzie - starter
Brown - starter
Craft - nickel
Thomas - dime

If we trade him, you can be sure someone will get injured - that\'s just Saints luck. So... if we trade him, we\'ll have to draft a corner.

whodat i didnt realize he was cheap. what is his cap number. i thought we signed him before last season to a pretty decent contract

If I\'m reading the info I got from nflpa.com correctly, this is the \"compensation\" for 2005 for each player.

Personally, I\'d hate to see Fred go.....the guy plays his guts out and has alot of heart, if not a dwindling skill set and small stature. He could make an impact on special teams, if nowhere else.

I love his heart too, but I didn\'t realize he was over 2 million. That\'s too much for a dime.
