Re: Joe Haden

It's hard to imagine that even IF the Steelers didn't want him, we could have paid him what he was looking for...

7 million a year for an aptly injured player is a bit much...

We always do better with the low money signings, this one would have ended the same way the Byrd signing did.

Bullcrap. The Saints could have signed him in a second with easy cap adjustments, but fortunately they restrained.

Exactly. What we have is not only a solid future, it is a very viable present. Why throw money after an aging injured player again?

I would've like to have had him on the team but not for that price.

See how he turns out with the Steelers before you make that judgment.

Can't predict the future but for now, for $9,000,000/year, I'd rather roll the dice with what we have.

Glad he is going to the Steelers.

They are way over paying for him. He can still play but he is at that age where injuries start creeping in and losing a step as a CB is setting in.

Here in Cleveland they wanted to keep him they wanted him to take a pay cut he can still play but they are setting up to win in 3 years and he won't be around for that and at that price the analitics don't equate for a 3rd string CB.

I can see signing him for 1.8 but 3 year 27 mil is a huge gamble that we don't need to gamble with anymore of that crap.

Wow! He lasted all of about forty minutes on the open market.
