Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
I understand Bighill may make it to the ps but i am still feeling bad for the guy. Dude put it all out there. Made a bunch of plays. To keep Anthony who has done nothing since his rookie yr over him, has to be a punch in the nards. Hope Bighill keeps his head up. You don't see heart like that to often.

Tommylee dropped that many passes? Were these passes from Drew or also-rans?!?

Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
Really like Bighill and his story, but 'let's face it, he looked great against the 3's, not so much against the Ravens 1's...
Anthony was much improved until his injury which is what we now know is a high-ankle sprain and those take four-six weeks to recover, minimum... And consider this, we have Mike Nolan now, not Joe Vitt; Nolan I'm sure had considerable input into the decision to retain Anthony... Mike Nolan has a great reputation for coaching defenses, linebackers and Anthony is there because he was one of the six best... |
Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
I'm not holding my breath on Anthony and his development in black and gold. Let's just hope he gets it done when playing alongside a cerebral LB (see Teo & Klein). What will be will be.

Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
So our O-Line looks like this:
LT- Ryan Ramczyk, Terron Armstead (Injured) LG- Andrus Peat C- Max Unger, Josh LeRibeus RG- Larry Warford, Senio Kelemete RT- Zach Strief Think we're putting in a couple of waiver claims for O-Linemen? We'll be in better shape when Armstead gets healthy but right now we don't have a single back-up tackle. |

Have no problem going with eight as Payton's normal modus operandi for during his tenure... Bright Side is injuries to Unger and Armstead must be ~85% recovered to use those roster spots now... Also means we still have our two IR, return options available to us to start the season... LeRibeus is the only guy that probably should be staying with Friends & Family or using AirBNB... Only unknown is Warford who's not seen live bullets, otherwise this is a great unit... |

I expect some churn along the line next week though. There has to be a tackle better than Harris out there somewhere. SFIAH |
Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
I like D-Tapp and what he brings to the squad, but I'd prefer a better option for that fourth/fifth DE/DT...
It wasn't bothering me before, but that hole left by signing Fairley and then his IR after Free Agency options were gone really hurts... |
Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
Guess tweaking and practice squad remains...
Who I'd like back: WR 15 - Jake Lampmann DT 92 - Justin Zimmer RB 34 - Darius Victor OT 77 - John Fullington SS 30 - Erik Harris C 63 - Cameron Tom TE 46 - Braedon Bowman TE 45 - Garrett Griffin LB 59 - Jonathan Walton CB 35 - Malik Foreman CB 37 - Arthur Maulet |

Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
[QUOTE=hagan714;762239]According to NFL.com, the Broncos are going to cut Ward Saturday. Ward was entering the fourth year of his $22.5 million contract, but the team felt that Justin Simmons, a third-round pick in 2016, was ready to take over the role so they were comfortable parting ways with the veteran.

Good list but you think Lampman is better than Carr (NE cut), Victor Cruz? Fingers crossed for Victor. Should take a cut QB (but not Grayson or Nassib). Thinking TE Bowman is under-rated. Hope they can rescue SS (hat tip to you) Erik Harris. Hope we get the chance to re-sign DT McDaniel. Looked up numbers of players who blew it and too often it was Maulet. |

Re: Roster Cutdown Mega-Thread
Of all the names I have seen on the waiver wire
TE Blake Jarwin is one I really like. He was my #1 developmental "Move" TE for the practice squad in the 2017 draft. #3 overall. The saints could get the most out of his skill set. a hybrid fullback/tight end position Blake Jarwin TE Oklahoma St. 6050 244 4.76 #47 rSr He has soft hands and the ability to hold onto the ball after a hard hits. He is a quality second level blocker to boot. He was used everywhere -- in-line, as a wing, from the slot, and split wide. He possesses the underlying skills to develop into a productive contributor at the next level. A rotational tight end with the potential to play in-line and on the move. He needs work in all areas of his game due to playing in OSU wide open system. But that wide open offense is a good foundation for the saints to start working with at the move TE position. He is the type of TE that will never break the bank but if all goes well he can have a long productive professional career I have my #1 waiver addition for the saints PS that the saints will never sign. |
