If we did the latter, our stats would be even better. If we were to juxtapose the very same preseason stats from the last few years, we would see a difference. It would appear we are remarkably improved on defense, any way you slice it. It'll be fun to see just how much in the next few games.
True, but you'd have to take into consideration the opponents they played against, who those opponents fielded out of the roster, what were the goals they tried to achieve in the games, etc. - and then look at the same variables from the Vikes' and Saints' point of view.

Having watched those games fairly closely, the Vikes held out many starters from all of the preseason games or gave them just a handful of snaps.

I'm not saying they are world-beaters - just trying to keep a cool head.

AP and Mark Ingram will be like Bread and Butter, Milk and Cookies, Thunder and Lightning, Catholics and Wine......well you get the message. They will open up the passing game for sure. Like that needs to be anymore open than it already is!

Well the Vikes have arguably the best 4-3 NT against the run in Linval Joseph and very fast LBs in Kendricks and Barr, so it's probably going to be hard to get to the second level with the runs.

And if Ingram and/or Peterson can get past the LBs - the secondary headed by Harrison Smith is no slouch open-field tackling.

If we're getting past the linebackers in the running game, then it doesn't really matter who's in the secondary. We've already accomplished what we need, if we're getting to that level.

If we take care of the ball and control time of possession, 20 points should win this game. Sam Bradford just doesn't get the ball down the field and that offensive line is sketchy, at best. If the Saints defense has improved as much as we think it has, then it will be an especially long day for Bradford.

I think the Saints will score more than 20, though. I think we can get at least around 27 or 28, despite the Vikings solid defense, because I have a feeling the Vikes D will be on the field for a large portion of the game. If we are somehow consistently running the ball 5 plus yards, then I think it could be a blowout. But I anticipate that this will be a game we lead much of the way, and put away in the 4th quarter by 10 to 14 points.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Adrian Peterson. He went to Oklahoma. Baker Mayfield. He's at Oklahoma. Saints take Baker Mayfield with the 32nd pick in the NFL Draft next year.

Or we take Lamar Jackson in the 2nd or 3rd after everybody doubts his ability to play QB at the next level.

AP goes for 150 first game and 3 TDs.

Gunslinger, ability to rally the troops (see OSU game last night). I see a lot of Derek Carr in him. Baker could possibly become the 1st QB taken. If he keeps playing at a high level, highly unlikely he drops out of the top 10.

I think they'll keep the kids from USC and Wyoming ahead of him because of his size, but I like him too. He's got swag.
