Agreed. Kind of reminds me of a few years back when Dez was yelling at Romo on the sideline and the media fed off of what they "assumed" as a confrontation. When they finally got the audio, Dez was simply fired up and telling his QB "believe in me, I got you. We can beat these boys but I need to be involved!" (I'm paraphrasing). AP was no different last night.

Here is basically what was said ...

Let's be clear...I said we need to run the ball up their Donkey. Nothing more. I'm passionate but respect my coach at the same time

Over reaction by the media.

Give him the ball and let him GEAUX ON THE FIELD.

Anyone blaming AP for last night is crazy. AP didn't sign himself to the team and he's not calling the plays. Maybe if our head coach wasn't so concerned with coming up with special formations and player packages and actually let his OC worry about the offense while he took care of the overall coaching of the team we might have had a different result.

Over time Payton's offense is becoming less explosive and more predictable. Also, I'm not fooled by the stats at the end of the game. No one is impressed with getting a bunch of garbage yards at the end of the game when the defense is playing prevent.

One thing I did notice last night with our offense is that our no huddle offense is really effective. This has actually been the case the last 2 years. When we stop all the substitutions and just execute with pace our offense gets in a better rhythm and it starts to resemble what our offense used to look like (explosive wise)

As soon as we stopped throwing to the RB's, that's when we started becoming effective.

We were not aggressive at all until late in the 3rd, then we got to the goal line and Payton just gave up multiple times and settled for 3!!

One thing I see changing next week; no settling for multiple FGs. We don't have the D to win in that situation but we likely thought we did. It's obvious we do not.

This. I really wish we would stop throwing bubble screens and quick screens to the running backs and wide receivers. We never get yards off these type of plays. It used to drive me crazy when we would run these type of plays with brandon cooks.

The problem is the frequency at which we do those things.

The biggest thing we were missing was the vertical passing game and PA pass, it wasn't even attempted until halfway through the 3rd QTR.

Having the vertical pass being a threat for the defense opens up the bubble screen, RB screens and run game. Brees had 74 yards passing at half... unacceptable, we should come out taking shots down field and look to the run game to secure the lead.

Maybe if Drew Bress could audible instead of running everything sent in to him it would also make a difference. I don't really Blame AP for being disappointed as much as I blame Payton for leaving Harris in there to make a fool out of himself.

Make no mistake, I'm not blaming AP for last night's loss...

But you simply do not air the family laundry out in the open like that...

I just don't see this ending well for Payton nor Peterson, Chris called it right - a bad signing...

Exactly, 100% agree, 2009 Payton would call seam passes and double moves to start the game. Right off the bat, teams were on the back foot and then the screen opened up for PT23.

Payton has completely lost it, Carmichael should call plays.
