No Strief, No Armstead, No Snead.

New England - 9 days to prepare after getting their ass waxed
New Orleans - 5 days to prepare with numerous injuries to starters

We're gonna get smoked.

The Pats secondary had a hard time with Tyreek Hill's speed. I hope Payton figures out a way to utilize Ginn and Lewis at the same time. They'll either be in single coverage and one of them should be open often, or they'll have either Thomas and Fleener covered by a single linebacker. Of course all that hinges on the Oline giving enough time for the play to develop.
Use the pass to open up the run like they've been doing for years rather than the other way around like they tried to do in Minnesota.

Better match up for the Saints in the dome.

Did anyone notice Cam occasionally dropped back in coverage on Monday night? I didn't like that look at all. We don't have enough proven play-makers on defense to try those exotic looks. It didn't confuse Sam so it's definitely isn't going to confuse Brady on Sunday.

Stick to the basics coach Dennis. The basics.

Wasn't one of those plays where Cam batted the ball and almost got the INT?

Pats are beat up at WR. We also have a good bead on them from picking up their cut WR. No pressure though so likely another long night of bleeding profusely. Chiefs could barely get to him and they have a decent pass rush.

Remember back in 2014 vs Titans, Mariota lofted the ball up, Keenan Lewis and Byrd ran into each other trying to catch it, Delanie Walker caught it and ran 50 yards for the TD.

Different players, nearly the same outcome.

We are a dumb team, especially on D.

True but the Chiefs have play makers (I doubt they threw on Peters side all game) on the back end. Brady had a small window to throw in. He will truly miss not having Julian Edelman this year and other up and comer Malcolm Mitchell.

This game will be closer than most may think.

I perfer underdog status, seems to make them play harder for a game, and maybe this will be a start of good times coming.

Pats D philosophy is to neutralize your best player...I'm guessing Mike Thomas since our 3 RBs are on the revolving door committee. Our offense needs Ginn & TLL to come up big.

BRILLIANT !!! Yes, Excellent plan, Utah, and yes, Im glad you pointed out, what most of us have forgotten in all the "we need balance; we need to run more" talk. -- Bullsh*t. WE HAVE TO PASS to set up the Run. Our O-Line has never been The Hogs. We have piglets. We cannot just run. Running the ball for us is a trick play. ESPECIALLY on the Goal Line, where we get stuffed every time. We're the only team in football, where goal-to-go from the 1 is a passing down.

We cant run.
We dont run.
We shouldnt try.
Stop pretending we can run.
Run only when its a surprise.

Lets call one running play, just for the novelty, and we can have the River Parish Disposal Kicking Tee Retriever of the Week run it.
It wouldnt be any more masturbatory than when we try to run on the goal line.
I would trade both Peterson AND Ingram for the best O-linemen we could get, and use Kamara & Travaris Cadet. We'd be better off.
I'm just being real.

-- All that said, its amusing that we are even talking about this game, as if having some strategy or plan will avoid the inevitable spanking we are about to receive. (We could have AP bring out the switch.) So lets award ourselves $5 gift certificates from Popeyes just for being such little super troopers. Bless our heart.

Mikey The Greek (or Jimmy the Mexican, whichever) says, Angry Patriots 56, Puny Saints 6. (we can kick more FGS
inside the 10)
I dont even see a point in playing Drew until we get Armstead & Strief back.
In fact, lets sit Michael Thomas, Kamara, and anyone worth their jock on D, if we have any.
And hope nobody else comes down with some rare medical condition, or drunk driving, or exzema, or double jointed psoriaosis etc etc blah blah.

I thought the same thing. I said to myself "DA thinks CJ(94) is better at zone coverage than SA(50)...Saints need a new DC"

If they activate Harris it will be time to drop the saints defense in fantasy football if you haven't dropped them yet. That will show me they haven't learned nor came with a decent game plan or scheme to stop Brady. The last time we humiliated the Patriots in the dome we had Porter, Greer, and Sharper with a great defensive scheme to pressure Brady. Now all we have is hope and defensive coordinators that can't make adjustments to a offense.

Porter and Greer were out for that game vs Pats.

We had Mike McKenzie, Malcolm Jenkins, Chris McAllister, Randall Gay and Darren Sharper as DB's.

That was 2015. I was there. The previous week we beat the Giants in a ridiculously entertaining but heart-stopping game, and I was at the endzone where that farcical play took place. We actually had the interception until the collision. I was stunned.

Re: On To The Patriots

Re watched the Pats vs KC game and came away with this :

Pats pass rush was just as suspect as ours.
Their offensive line isn't world beaters.
Brady may not have another WR weapon (Amendola/concussion protocol) at his disposal.
Hightower didn't practice on Wednesday (not a good sign for him playing).

For those that say "we'll be torched" ... I disagree. NE can be had in the dome. Saints film study, preparation & communication on defense will be paramount. I think AP will be more involved in the offense for game 2 ... same goes for MIngram.

Create turnovers (strips, force fumbles, knocking the ball out, blocked punts). We are long over due on getting a INT.

Saints 27-21.

Thats great optimistic but I have 99% no faith in Dennis Allen. I believe he go in with a plan but not able to adjust when plan break down. Minnesota plan was to keep 3rd down short and strike with crossing routes nor P.J or Harris could defend. Simple adjustment would've been to use lb to slow them down on crossing or go one deep safety go double coverage underneath with ML in man. I can understand they went Harris over Crawley because he is a better open field tackler but Crawley is a better cover corner which what they needed and Moore is a better overall corner than Harris which make me go back and ask why Harris over Moore? If Harris is chosen again over Crawley & Moore I will have absolutely no faith in Dennis Allen

The 3 play drive that ended with Diggs TD, the crossing route that PJ gave up really made me question his ability to be a player in this league.

Despite missing the Jam at the line he was still in great position, literally all he had to do was turn around. Why do our corners never turn to face the ball!!!!

That's on Allen and Glenn. Never liked what I saw in Pre Season from Harris but if you are going to play him, disguise him. Having a play maker like Diggs on Harris was a recipe for disaster. Pretty much all second half.

At this level, WR's shouldn't be running free down field en-route to huge gains.

I've been thinking about the RB situation and I just keep coming to the conclusion that Kamara is the guy now. I just don't think you throw a rookie into the fire like we did in week 1 on MNF with a healthy Ingram and AP on the bench if you don't want him to be #1.

Dear New Orleans Saints:

My 13th Wedding Anniversary is this Monday. The wife is a Patriots fan. If you guys could win on Sunday. I won't have to listen to her talk for a whole day. This would be the best gift I could ask for.

Even though they won a couple of Super Bowls. I'm still living off the last time the Saints beat the Patriots. I have the game on DVD. When she start talking crazy I just put the DVD into my computer and watch the game and she leaves me alone. I always invite her to sit and watch but she never does.

Please do your best to win. Not just for me, but for every SAINTS FAN.

Thank You.
