cover long enough???

They should only have to cover 3-5 seconds not 20 seconds.

The pressure would have got there, PJ williams, Harris and Vaccaro just completely ignored there assignments.

It's hard for the D line to get there when our DB's blow their coverage between 1-2 seconds after the play has started.

I don't think there is any need for finger pointing with how bad the D did. They didn't get any pressure on the QB. And the DB's don't give us anything to prove that they aren't to blame either.

When you start the first play of the game on D and you only have 10 on the field that doesn't say much for the D. There were a few broken coverages but there was tons of not getting to the QB.

I also give credit to the QB because some of the passes you could not defend against he threw them in great spots that no defender could get to. It was the perfect storm for our D. But to point the finger at the DBs solely isn't the right anwer either.

The crossing route by Thielen absolutely slayed our third down defense; and that route took for-e-ver...

Cam Jordan was double-teamed nearly all but one play - and Jordan made them pay for it when they let up...

Okafor played well against the run, but was non-existent in the pass rush; Hendrickson needs some Castor oil...

Didn't like the Rankins pick and I'm still waiting for the impact player we drafted to get off the bus...

Our run defense is solid. Very solid. Who needs to run if they know throwing the ball means automatic yards. It's looking like teams won't even have to attempt to run.

Meh, we let a rookie run for 130 yards in his first start, we aren't solid by any means.

Interesting and depressing stat - in 2016, the vikings had 3 drives that were 80+ yards, they got 2 in 1 game against us.

That's what I was thinking. It seemed to me that anytime a Vikings RB wanted the edge it was there for the taking.

I'm not qualified to determine whether the problem can be fixed with what we have. It's hard to think it couldn't, but heck they ran all over us Monday night.

Deuce has been preaching this concept for nearly three years now. We still don't have that ability to "set the edge" and limit those substantial gains.

Go back and watch the game or go to Pro Football Reference - most of that yardage was after the defense had been on the field waaaay too long...

Another interesting stat: 4 out of 5 is 80%!
Also in 2016 the Vikings offensive line was completely different.
5 new starters against the Saints.
