Re: #1 Draft Pick
We'll probably wind up 7-9 again and just miss out on impact players picking in the middle of the pack.
We really need the space eater next to Rankins to free him up a little so he can finally get there. |

Re: #1 Draft Pick
The trouble is we don't have a 2nd round pick because of trading up to get Kamara, which could prove costly.

Re: #1 Draft Pick
He is my other QB in round 1.
But I am still not giving up hope we can manage a season were we pick no higher than 15. If we are in the top 15 he is the man. He has that skill set to open up the field even more than Drew down the road. He has a ton of starting time also and yet his progression in his reads needs work IMO. That is my #1 concern with him. If he can improve on that, the sky is the limit. Drew is the perfect mentor for him. He reminds of me David Carr.

Luke does not come across that way and he is a smart kid. No way should he start year one. But he has all the skill sets to make the Drew transition as painless as possible. He reminds me of Drew coming out of college and even Drew had to sit. My issues with Luke is hesitation with routes over the middle between the strips. Most of his Ints are in this area. At times he just does thread the needle when the window is too small. Faith in himself or in his WR? That maybe the issue. He could be a lights out QB that will always have a decent number of Int his whole career . That is an interview thing and evaluating the 6 inches between his ears. if so he can be a carbon copy of Drew. So the Saints offense would not change that much. |
