Governor reticent on offer to Saints
Gov. Kathleen Blanco is ready to make New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson an offer -- she just won't say what it is.
One thing is certain. The offer isn't a mutually agreed upon proposal despite the state sitting down with the NFL franchise six times since January in an attempt to broker a new deal.

"This is not a negotiated offer," said Denise Bottcher, the governor's press secretary.

Blanco said Tuesday during a visit to a high school in Tensas Parish that she plans to call Benson this week to arrange a meeting.

She said she plans to pitch a proposal to Benson but was cryptic about the details.

"I just want to see his reaction to our offer," she said.
