Saints traded Bush for Amaya, who won that trade? Miami
Saints trade Kenny Still for Ellderbe, who won that trade? Miami Saints trade Stephone Anthony for 5th round pick, who win this trade? They know these players are good that is why they trade them off to AFC. I don't know if it's personal but egos must be checked in order to establish a winner. Sproles traded cause you want him to take a pay cut he refuse then he blindsided traded to the Eagles, for a 5th rd pick. Been trying to find a replacement since. It's one thing if they were trying to get under cap and build from the draft, but no they go pay top dollars for players that contribute 0. Spiller, Byrd, Laurinaitis, and Browner list goes up. This is why I say let Payton play out this year, playoffs or force him to quit not fire, simply by taking away some of his power and make it as uncomfortable as you can for him wanting to stick around. You could just fire him and hopefully he might sign with another team to save some money. I am done with the season being over before it even started and living off a if here or maybe there. And why do you think the season is over before it has even started? During last night's game Chris Collinsworth made a great point. He said anyone trying to base what a team will do the remainder of season upon what they do in September is crazy. He said that most teams will not reach their potential until at least October and early schedule match-ups even further muddies the waters. I have paraphrased because I do not remember the exact wording. He was actually laughing about how ridiculous it was to do that. The season isn't over. It has barely even begun. Don't forget Miami started out 0-2 last season and looked bad doing it and then ran of ten straight wins. |

Re: Just Ranting
We have made some excellent trades but that's the way it goes with trades. I don't think we are doing anything poorly from that angle but we are on a bit of a losing streak. Spiller went crazy on us and everyone else after. Before that he was a solid player.
The Cooks trade is not working so great for the Pats right now. We also snagged a good slot WR from them because they thought they were too deep. I could see things totally flipping after game 5 where the Pats find themselves depleted at WR and we finally show up late. Our D is bad but a lot of young guys. If they can stay on the field they will improve. Willing to bet we start getting turnovers in the second part of the season in chunks but we are not there yet. |

Re: Just Ranting
I personally don't care about the Anthony trade. I was actually surprised he didn't get cut. The guy hasn't contributed besides his rookie year when he was continuously out of position and was running people down from behind. I honestly don't know why people give a **** about trading him. At least they got something for a guy that can't figure out the play book. That's probably the only reason they didn't cut him.
If Nolan can't teach him and use him... pretty good chance he isn't going to work out for anyone. Not guaranteed, but a good chance. If you want to be pissed about him, be pissed they wasted the draft pick on him. |

James Laurinaitis was a host yesterday on NFL Radio and said that in Anthony's first year he clearly felt more comfortable playing. He could just never adjust to playing outside. The problem is that he just isn't sharp enough to be a play caller so he can't wear the green dot. So his only shot was to be able to beat out Manti Te'o since Klein is the play caller. He couldn't even do that. A fifth for him is better than nothing. Like my grandfather used to say, "Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick." |

Re: Just Ranting
Yeah I was watching the game last night when CC started talking about September vs October and I got a little more optimistic. It's true the season is long, and a lot can change. But flip side of the coin, it's equally frustrating to see the Rams and 9ers, who have recently been abysmal, have an entirely new regime change, and they look A LOT better than our Drew Brees led Saints. HOW IN THE F&^% is THAT!!!???

Re: Just Ranting
Because their defenses were on three days rest, which is why their offenses looked so good. They really have not looked great before this game(LA has but they played the colts and scored 20 against Was). and they are not playing with the pressure to make the playoffs this year. When you go out and try to play your best not thinking about whether you make the playoffs or not, there is less pressure.
