this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I will believe it it when strief says it. Your right no need to rush him. That was the first thing I said when he took to the field....

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
I would have let him be the backup yesterday. But, he was having a great game and looked to bee 100 percent healthy. That being said, the staff rushed Breaux back last year and who really knows about his career now. Props to Peat and Ram. They line up and compete.

He's been a tremendous leader and one of the true, constant bright spots of this team since he was drafted as a 7th round pick... Looking at his build, bulk vs his the muscular size in his legs, I don't see him coming back at this point of his career to prove anything... Hope he works hard to get rid of that dead bulk on his body and enjoy a good quality of life and success in his business post-NFL... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
Let's see what the reports say today. He may have a sprain that can heal over the next few weeks so he can finish 2017 and retire. We should have Armstead back after the bye so Ram can start at RT with Strief coming back later in the season if we make a wildcard berth. I've had both knees reconstructed from football. I can take a misstep after changing a light bulb that's so painful I can't walk for the rest of the day and 3 days later I'm fine.

Ram looks great at RT, it's time. We'll come back from the bye with Armstead and Ramczyk hopefully manning the tackle positions for the next 10+ years.

His knee wasn't bent backwards.
In fact when you watch the replay he appears to do a very good job of lifting his leg as soon as he feels contact vs it getting pinned and getting seriously injured. My guess is this is a minor issue and he'll be back in two weeks. |
