this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I found it being a pretty decent and enjoyable read... But this Saints team has the makings of something different. I've compared this Saints team to the 2006 squad, Payton's first in his 12-year tenure. That wasn't the most talented ...

Re: There's something different about the 2017 New Orleans Saints
If we beat the Lions we will be a legit competitive football team. That really anyone can ask of a team. As long as they are competitive there is something to be positive about. Staring at 0-2 or 04 is not.

Nice turn of events but the teams we played recently are the biggest contribution. Pull it off against a couple of more stable teams then that would be something.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. One game at a time and may be one legit team.

Offense: They have better depth all around especially on the OL. It always starts in the trenches. Still need to add a young buck or two worth grooming.
Defense: vets like Klien keeping heads screwed on straight. That was missing last year. The same thing happened when Williams started making his moves at LB. Talk the talk and walk the walk is what players respond to. A huge step forward. |

Re: There's something different about the 2017 New Orleans Saints
I want to see a good showing against Detroit before I can get energized. If the Lions bring their A-game and we lose a close one I can live with it. But if the problems from weeks 1 and 2 emerge and we get blown out the same concerns will resurface again.
