Lions send DT Ngata to IR with biceps injury

Lions placed DT Haloti Ngata on injured reserve with a biceps injury.
Ngata left Week 5 against the Panthers in the fourth quarter. He'll be sidelined for a minimum of eight weeks on I.R. with what is likely a torn biceps. At 33, Ngata isn't the player he was in Baltimore, but he'd been making an impact on limited snaps as a pass rusher from the inside. The Lions have brought back DT Caraun Reid to take Ngata's spot on the 53-man roster.
