Re: Drew Brees isn't going anywhere, and Saints finally have hope for future
Drew wants to win and if the franchise didn't make the necessary moves then Drew could leave and go to a contender with his current contract. We are a more complete team with a chance to get to the playoffs again. I think he stays and retires a Saint which is what he really wants.

That is exactly what he expressed in the one on one interview with Jimmy Johnson on the FOX pre-game and added that he plans to also play for several more years. It all came up when Johnson asked about any contract negotiations. Brees said there are none because he wanted to wait, but said it will get done for sure.

Nobody knows what real chance any team has going into a season. All kinds of things could happen. Leaving a team with whom you already have chemistry to go elsewhere makes zero sense if the only reason is wanting to win.

No middle man, I'll PayPal it straight to you. We will see who pays the piper.
And how you equate believing Brees will leave to wanting Brees to leave is beyond me. |

What's the bet? I'd like to get in on this action. Now, I'm not a betting man by any stretch, but this is as near a sure thing as I can imagine. Look Drew is comfortable here. He's comfortable with the players and with the coaches and the Saints don't have anyone qualified to replace him, and even if they draft the next Drew Brees they're not turning it over to a rookie. They'll pay him well, for probably 3 more years is my guess. But he'll be here next year. That's no 'guess'. I want in. What's the bet? |
