Of the Saints not being able to frade howard and shift will smith to the Weakside Lb spot? Will as our will LB.....
You know he is athletic enugh, they mentioned during last years draft, that that was a posibility when we drafted him, cause we were already set at DE... What are the possibilities? IMO I think we should Trade him for a bigger need, but I am becoming pesimistic, as it seems intrest is not there anymore. Dallas has called our Bluff about just keeping him, if nothing is worked out. Thats why I think they should explore other options, Howard is an Awesome player,... |

What are the chances???
it is such a vital necessity i think they will still move him. they might want too much now but i cannot see turning down even a 3rd rounder to clear the cap space. it is 2 weeks until the draft. do not be surprised if it doesn\'t shake out until the day before then.
stranger things have been done succesfully but i do not see putting smith through such pressure because of front office mismanagement- whether he has the capability or not. |

What are the chances???
Keeping Howard unless we get adequate compensation for him is not a bluff. If the FO does any less, I\'ll...I\'ll...I\'ll come on this site and REALLY hurt Loomis\' feelings this time. I swear it!

What are the chances???
there is no way we put Smith at WLB.... i still think there is hope of a Howard trade, but not to the Cowboys. Possibly the Raiders for Buchanon.

I agree with Who, W. Smith is not going to play LB. Good evidence for this is that we could have used him at LB last year if he were good enough.
Also, last week I posted a thread on why we cannot keep Howard. From a purely financial stand point, we wouldn\'t be able to sign our rookies this year if his cap number stays the same. Also, it would put us in a position where either Howard or Bentley will be gone next year without compensation, unlike this year where we can get compensation for Howard. I don\'t think I\'d take anything less than a 2nd rounder next year for Howard, and even that would be low. I think that really the farthest they should drop is this: (1) a starting player and a conditional 3rd or 2nd next year OR (2) a second this year and a conditional 3rd or 2nd next year. If we were really pressed, I\'d drop the conditional pick. |
