Zach Strief hopes to return in December
Zach Strief says he will try to avoid going under the knife to fix his knee troubles. The veteran New Orleans Saints right tackle will try to rehabilitate his second knee injury this season through and non-surgical treatment and therapy in the hopes of recovering early and returning in December. “Hopefully I can come back, because I don’t want to finish [my career] like this,” Strief said, via ESPN. “At the same time, I’m a long way from complaining about anything, no matter what happens.” Strief injured his knee in the Saints’ opener at Minnesota on Sept. 11 only to re-injure the same knee in their 20-0 win over Miami a month later in London. In his place, rookie Ryan Ramczyk has occupied the right tackle position, and with some success, while Terron Armstead has returned to left tackle after missing the first five weeks of the season with his shoulder injury. New Orleans (3-2) has surrendered just four sacks this season, the NFL’s fewest. |

Re: Zach Strief hopes to return in December
I wouldn't be so quick to say no. It's a long season and we may need all we can get. Line is shaping up nicely. If they continue to do so I would say don't mess with their cohesion by putting Strief back in there. He would be however very very solid depth. He's aging but only a year away from a career year grading out as one of the best lineman in the league.

Re: Zach Strief hopes to return in December
He could come back against ATL in the short week. What a luxury it would be to ease him for 20-25 snaps and give Armstead and RR a break.
Not seeing the downside |

Re: Zach Strief hopes to return in December
I'd be great to have that kind of OL depth during the playoffs.
