Playoffs

I am a member of NFLDRAFTCOUNTDOWN.com. They recently had a forum predicting the playoff teams next year. On a four page forum, only ONE person predicted the saints in the playoffs and it was as a wild card. Even the 49ers got picked to win their division, but what did the saints get? Notta. Nothing. Zip.

This brings me to my next point. Some people claim that many members of this board are pesimistic. But I on the contrary, believe these so called pesimists are actually realists. Why do I beleive this?

It is easy to say that your team will rebound and be great every year. It is much more difficult to accept what you can not change and that is reality. We have no control over the way this organization is run (no matter how bad we want it). But for Saints fans to accept reality is not being pesimistic, but realistic. We are not the only people that expect the Saints to be mediocer.

Only one out of 59 posts have the Saints in the playoffs. For all who can see past what they want and can see what they have, I just want to say that I am their with you. As bad as we want a playoff team, we don't have it. Not trying to be negative. Just trying to point out what I see. Sorry if this bums yall out, but it is the truth.

It\'s much easier to be a pessimist.
Try and find a book on \"How to be more negative\".
Good luck.

And also, most pessimists claim their realist.
Pessimism is for the weakminded.

Pessimism is for the weakminded.
And optimism is for the naive. But we don\'t wanna generalize or anything.

I\'m with you Tay. Rarely have I read anywhere that has us as even a potential playoff team next year. Even Pete Prisco has jumped from the bandwagon, and he had us in the Superbowl last year.

Maybe it\'s a good thing. Every year who are touted as the team with the most \"potential and talent\" who could easily dominate the regular season and get into the playoffs. And look what happens? Squat. Maybe it will take some pressure off of us and maybe this is the year we will surprise some people. Heck I love setting the bar high but I always am disappointed at the end. Let\'s just do what Marty and the Chargers did last year by setting your goals a big lower, and surprising everyone.

I like that papz. That is the route to take, since it didn\'t seem like the team showed up until everyone had written them off. LEt\'s see how they do as the underdog every week. If NOONE writes a glowing report of all their potential and talent, maybe that lessening of smoke up the butt syndrome will allow them to focus more mentally for games.
