If he has value we will trader him. That seems to be the MO from the front office lately. Trade for a draft pick and let Ireland do his thing while we keep the cap down.

2018
trade him 16.5 million dead and a total of 12M the remaining contract
All for a draft pick to roll the dice on and pray in 2018 that the OL shift will work for 18 games

vs

2019 - give him one last year to stay healthy and a year to reevaluate/adjust the roster.

opt out $7,400,000 dead money and remaining terms of the contract are voided

I prefer the 2019 option if something is to be done with Terron

Never know Terron might take a redo on that contract to stay in 2019. the contract appears to structured to renegotiate

I am betting on a new contract for 2019 lowering that 15M annual cap hit the remaining 3 years of his contract,

Ever heard of sign and trade? There's a premium on Left Tackles in this league and we've got three on the roster and gotta make cap room, if...

and not even going to mention Delvin Breaux...

...or that Peat's rookie contract will need to be addressed next season...

A team will want his talent and will be willing to do a deal that includes a new contract that shifts the cap hits in the future that they will absorb...
