sounds better but i don\'t think you can pawn off a guy as being equal to howard who lost his job to fakhir brown. just my opinion, i think you would be lucky to get a 3rd rd pick for thomas at best. so, #16, 1000pts+ #82, 180 pts, that means ya value thomas as 420pts, equivalent to #42 in the 2nd rd. not hardassing ya, i just try to see things from the other team\'s perspective. antrel rolle or #16, #82, and an old declining skills cb? titans gm has already said by this time nest year they will be the youngest team in the league.
how bout this one- will smith for #6 straight across to get dj? they get a hot up n coming dewd who is cheaper than the #6 and we get an even better player than we should have had in the first round last year. we sign howard longterm if we think he is so good. [Edited on 13/4/2005 by LKelley67] |

We\'re getting warmer....
I think that if what baron said in that other post is true about Oaktown and their second rounder, then we have to do it. It\'s a high second rounder at that. So.... How bout our 1st, 2nd, and Fred Thomas for their first? We would have DJ, plus at least one pick in each round. Not too steep for the next LT, huh??? |

Something about giving up a first and second rounder doesn\'t appeal to me. And I agree with using the value chart Kelley, but I also feel no way in hell is this a year where the value chart is of as much importance as it would be almost any other year, with so much value generally available to all. I think Thomas, our 1st and a 3rd is fine. I would rather that tha, the first and second you have been forced to move up to GT. No way on trading Will Smith either Kelley. Either Thomas, a 3rd and a 1st or Howard and our first and a 4th or no deal. I want DJ but not bad enough to have to part with a first and second.

I normally would be opposed to giving up a first and a second, but this is assuming that we make the trade for Howard with Oakland and nab their second. It would be completely obscene to give up a second otherwise.
I thought of another scenario. Two seconds and Thomas for DJ??? We would have two firsts. DJ and then Jammal Brown or Khalif Barnes. Just throwing this out there. |

the thomas deal IF ya get the other 2nd from oakland as ya said. get tom\'s okay and i say yeah too.
i threw that smith curve cuz it is easy to say howard is worth this or that but when ya turn it around about signing him for what he wants it certainly puts his value in better perspective doesn\'t it? okay, whodi i am floyd reese and you are loomis... #16, #40, and #118 straight. i\'m giving on the value. keep old man thomas, we dont\' want high priced howard either. or how bout #16 and stallworth and we give you #6 and #68 3rd rd? oh, your friends in seattle say you are an azzhole btw. LOL |

Kelley, I have friends in Seattle? lol 16, 40 and 118 if we get 38 from Oakland, if that rumor is true. That Rich gosselin guy just reported in Dallas that Howard trade talks will ratchet up next week so we may be able to get more, if Oakland\'s offer is solid. I could live with that to get DJ. No way am I trading Stallworth. If our QB learns how to turn his head a little, Stallworth will have a breakout year coming off of a full season of being healthy.

I would love to see us move up to get DJ for a 16, 40, and 118. I really think that he shows a lot of promise and could start to turn our defense around.
About that Thomas deal.... I doubt that the Titans would be willing to give up a second rounder for Thomas, maybe a third. Anyways.... all this talk about countless possibilities that the FO could pursue on Draft Day really makes me wonder whether or not the FO is thinking any of these same things. Maybe we should call Benson and tell him to start participating in some forums.... just a thought.... we might be able to teach him something |
