Don't Fire Payton
but,
two key calls made me scratch my head, but both worked out perfectly for us: 1) why didn't we go for 2 on the first late TD to try and cut it to 7? If you don't get it you at least know what you need in the final 3 minutes. 2) The early down FG. I had horrible flashbacks to the Atl game when we did the same thing and Hartley missed it. We were jamming the ball down their throats- seems like we should have continued that Just happy both worked out |

2. He had confidence in Lutz at that point, obviously. Why take a chance at that point and loss the ball or lose yardage in some manner. |

Re: Don't Fire Payton
Exactly as Guido said, imagine as we score the first TD, the score is 31-22, if we go for 2 there and fail, the game is pretty much over and Washington have a 9 point lead.
Perfect play call by the way on the 2 point |

Re: Don't Fire Payton
They have charts for all that stuff. It tells them what to do factoring in score and time. Not much thought really goes into 2 pt attempts.

Re: Don't Fire Payton
I will criticize Kimara a bit for hanging out with the fans after scoring his TD knowing the Saints had to go for 2.

Re: Don't Fire Payton
I like it. He put all the pressure on himself. Especially if he knew the 2 point play call already.

Re: Don't Fire Payton
Payton should have called the new "Super Dome Special" and faked the winning FG ultimately costing the Saints the game. Just like Seattle!!
