We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
We swept Carolina who already has a win over the Falcons so the best they can do is split with them.
I guess if we lose to Bucs, Falcons beat Carolina then maybe it would put them in front place? |
Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
This week we put a nice stranglehold on the division. Thank you Vikings! We look great. Seattle proved Philly is mortal. Looking at the NFC if you see the world through Black and Gold goggles like I do you gotta love our chances.

Kitties: loses #1 to saints. So their only option is to finish a game ahead of the Saints. Any three Saints wins down the stretch eliminates them from contention. A 2-2 split on the Saints part would require a 4 game run from the Kitties or 3-1 and both Saints losses to be division losses for them to have a chance. Chokers: Plunking one on the Chokers Thursday puts them out the running. The head to head is gone because a Saints win eliminates any possible sweep for the Chokers and they are 3 games back with 3 to play. Now on to the three way tie: Quote:
Note that for most of these scenarios to be viable it requires the Bucs to beat one or more of the other division contenders. They are currently 0-3 and not looking too good. Bottom line is that it's still a mess. A win Thursday cleans up most everything leaving the Saints with 10 wins with the Chokers 3 games behind and 2 games behind in the division standings with 3 to go. The easiest way to clean it up is to win the next 3 games. That secures the NFC South without question leaving the Saints 5-0 in the division and sweeps over both the Kitties and the Chokers. Then life would be as good as my signature. SFIAH |

Just take care of business and don't worry about all the different scenarios. Deja Vu someone said that before!

Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
We win Thursday and it makes it hard for the Falcons to make the playoffs and would make it really difficult for us to lose the division. We would have 3 games to go and would have to lose 2 of those 3 and the panties would have to win all of their remaining games. So a win this week gets as close to a sure thing as possible. We need lattimore back and as healthy an oline as possible. We will get the falcons best game possible. Lose and their all but done

Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
A win doesn't give us the division, but gives us a huge 3 game lead in the wildcard.
This week is also the panthers' turn to get their asses kicked by the Vikings, and they have the Falcons last day of the season |
Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
Just because you win all your division games doesn't mean you win the division. You still have to have a better overall record than any other team in your division. Division wins are used as the tie breaker. Now if we did go 6-0 in the division we would be division champs because no one could have a better record this year.

Vikings secondary is tough. Panthers will be saying next year next week.

Watching some of Kamara's runs almost makes me feed sorry for the people trying to tackle him. Almost, but not quite. The kid is pretty special and he should extend Bree's career by a few years. Anytime you can dump a pass behind the line of scrimmage and have the back turn it into a 10-20 yard gain or TD, it helps the QB stats. |
Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
Thanks to Seattle the door is open for a potential 1st round bye. We'll need some help, but our chances aren't horribly bad anymore.

we came out with a win and healthy, so that is a win win
Now lets get back our other starting CB and add another win going into Thursday night game against Atlanta. Thursday is all that matters. Putting a nail in the falcons season on the road in front of their fans would be a huge point of joy in my life. |
Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
This week, if Rams, Panthers, and Saints win, the Saints become the #1 seed with 3 games to go.
Last 3 games: vs Jets vs Clowns @ Bucs |
Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
Better revenge. NFC Championship in Minnesota. Saints win then win the Super Bowl in YEP Minnesota!!!

Vikings have it pretty easy the rest of the way, and the Eagles only face one team with a winning record. We pretty much need to win out or go 3-1 and hope for upsets. I would not be surprised to see Seattle win that division |
Re: We beat the Falcons once and win the division right?
The Vikings D has playmakers on every level, that is why their D is so dangerous.
Whilst our D is good and much improved, when I looked at real "impact" players, the two that immediately stand out are Lattimore and Jordan. The Vikings have Everson Griffin, Kendricks and Barr at LB, Xavier Rhodes and Harrison Smith. Pro bowl talent at every level. I have confidence we are building a fantastic team, keep doing great work Mr Ireland. |
