Could Taysom Hill be the Saints' long-term successor for Drew Brees?
1 Attachment(s)
Taysom Hill has barely practiced at quarterback during his three months with the New Orleans Saints.
With Drew Brees the starter and No. 2 quarterback Chase Daniel primarily running the scout team in practice, Hill has received few practice repetitions since the Saints claimed him off waivers from the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 3. http://image.nola.com/home/nola-medi...91e8a6e3d3.jpg So, when FOX broadcasters Joe Buck and Troy Aikman shared some insight into Saints coach Sean Payton's love of Hill's game on Sunday, it was a bit surprising. "We've had the Saints two of the last three games, and in our production meetings with Sean Payton, we've spent more time talking about Taysom Hill than any other player on this roster," Aikman said during the Saints' win over the Carolina Panthers. "Sean Payton absolutely loves him." Buck went as far as saying that Payton relayed that the Saints already had Brees' quarterback successor "in the building." "He not only likes Taysom Hill, he loves Taysom Hill. And their future quarterback is Taysom Hill," Aikman said. Of course, the only reason Aikman and Buck had a reason to discuss Hill during the broadcast was that Payton made the inspired decision to use the third-string quarterback on special teams, and with the undrafted rookie making two tackles on special teams and coming close to blocking two punts. read more on NOLA |

I know the packers fans were not happy with losing him, many thought he’d replace Rodgers.
They tried to sneak him thru waivers, their loss our gain. The obvious concern is that he’s already 27 years old. But QBs today can play into their late 30’s so we could get a solid 7 or 8 years from him. |

Seems like we have upped our percentages in recruiting good quality young talent.
Taysom in our system working with Brees gives him a great opportunity. It's pretty clear that Chase isn't Drew's long term replacement. |

It’s all a little overblown. The first sentence even says he’s barely taken any reps in practice.

Wasn't Drew Brees 27 when he signed with the saints?
We all know what a mistake it was signing a QB that old coming off major throwing shoulder surgery! We should have signed...........John Kitna or Josh McCown" Seriously how can a 27 year old possibly be THE KID? Ahhhhhhhhh WHAT IF????????? |
