I would love a straight up trade Simon for Howard depending on what Simon\'s contract would be.

Ideal situation. We need a DT, they need a DE.
Both are comparable players at their positions, although Mortensen said Howard was more valuable.

If each work out a long term cap friendly deal I say its a win-win for both teams.
THEN we can draft 3 LB\'s!!!! :dance:

well it loooks nice rightg now but so did trotter to washington. he didnt pan out. he had huge upside too. i dont like it. there must be a reason their getting rid of the guy. they seem to know exactly when to let someone go. thats what scares me. trotter did nothing for wash. and douglas did nothing for jacksen. just scares me

Haha ideal situations always go down the crapper for the Saints on draft day. But I\'m with pretty much everybody here in that I would like to see a Simon for Howard deal. Two solid DEs and two good DTs. Then we could focus on other needs (LB, OT, QB, CB)...

P.s.- They never seem to listen...

I don\'t think that would be a good trade for us. Simon is just like Brian Young. Their running D struggled also until Trotter was put in the starting lineup. I think he is more of a pass rushing DT than a run stopper.
