Because he's raw and very weak against the run.

I view him kinda like Junior Gallete,

He already has the pass rush skills no doubt, he just needs to develop his run defense skills and I think he could be a stud.

He just isn't quite there yet.

It's hard to say he is not there against the run if you haven't seen him play. If you're judging by preseason, the kid was exceptional in every aspect of the game, that's why he made the 53 roster cause he was too big of risk losing by trying to sneak on the practice squad.

Coaching staff may bring him along slowly. Eventually he'll get his shot .. maybe not this year. Remember Gallette didn't see the field until his 3rd season or so.

Understand his character flaw and maybe they're trying to develop him more mentally. With that being said, I don't see nothing wrong with giving him 5 snaps a game or just activating him to play ST

Nola,

Circling this topic back to life. Re watched plays where he was involved on yesterday ... athletically I think he's a potential beast however looking at him coming off the line, he needs a TON of work. After the first move didn't work, he was toast. No counter in his repertoire. Lots of development needed in his game but it was good to see Muhammad in live action on yesterday.

I like your assessment of him. I seen potential, plus some unusual protection help. I figured since he was a rookie with no experience that he will have some one on one battles. He look to be protecting the edge, so I don't know his duties allowed him to do set up moves to go inside. All in all I like to be able to see him get some experience and hopefully this experience bring that beast out of him

This is the same staff who thought De’Vante Harris should be starting and Crawley should be inactive those first two games... So you know, they make some dumb decisions some times.
