Re: Here are the Saints' playoff scenarios heading into Week 17
i believe it is best to win out... host the panthers, win at home, and continue the winning drive visiting the other contenders, to the NFC Championship.
No better way to get to the Super Bowl than on a win dominated streak; with the other teams at home licking wounds and getting soft. The week bye can be a good thing, but I believe the continual weekly play and honing of skills and just flat out gut wrenching football is better. More of a meaning. |

Re: Here are the Saints' playoff scenarios heading into Week 17
the basics:
WIN and we are the 3 or 4 seed. Three if Jimmy G can pull the upset of the Rams Car W + Sea W + LA W = Car at NO Car L + LA W = Car at NO LA L and we could see Sea, Car, or Atl LOSE and we are either the 4 or 5 seed ATL W = Car at NO Car W = NO at Car |

I agree that when we win, we win the South and will be either the 3 or 4 seed. LA would have to lose for the Saints to get the 3. Carolina is locked into 5 with a Saints win no matter what else happens because they already have 11 wins and neither Atlanta nor Seattle can get to 11 wins. So it's simple: Saints W + LA W -> Car@NO, Atl/Sea@LA Saints W + LA L -> Atl/Sea@NO, Car@LA The Kitties can only move up from 5 with a Saints L. That's not going to happen. So the above scenarios are the only ones left. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
