So the average this year is 16 players and we’re at 21. Which is sixth hugest.

Last year we were second highest at 25.

That’s a lot of IR

Players on IR do not necessarily relate only to strength and conditioning. It is also based in a great manner by team philosophy. Payton is far less likely to keep a player on roster that will go more than a couple of games without contributing than many other head coaches. He is also far less likely to play a player not mostly healthy. In other words, we send players to IR that many teams would keep on the roster.

anzalone has bad bones so it is not surprising. kikaha has bad knees and now apparently ankles. The loss of okafor hurt as did the loss of klein. i guess at this stage of the season a few weeks = IR

Let's just hope the oline stays healthy, we need a completely healthy oline, ingram and kamara in the playoffs

Where did you get the idea that Anzalone "has bad bones"? As far as his injury goes he has only suffered one broken bone. He had a couple of shoulder injuries in college that may not have been addressed successfully. Hopefully the surgery he had this time will have a more successful result.

And as for Kikaha, getting your ankle rolled doesn't mean that you have bad ankles. It simply means you suffered an unavoidable injury that could happen to virtually any NFL player in any game.

Don't quote me but I think Ireland came on board after the Senior bowl the year we drafted Kikaha. However he wasn't working with an NFL organization and was researching pretty much on his own.

The following draft and last years draft showed the impact that Ireland has on bringing in quality players.

Edit: The new scouts also had a great influence no doubt!:p
