Re: Chapter 26 CRISIS TIME

Everyone in the area I grew up in balled. 7th Ward-Lakefront soldiers. Two guys I grew up with moved to Australia to play rugby. I practiced(scrimmaged) with them a few times. I even brought a track guy from my squad to the practice and hes hooked on rugby to this day. He's a black doctor. Only worth mentiong cuz not a lot of those guys are rugby enthusiasts. Not as high speed or intense as football but a cool sport. I was 6 ft 150. Fast in a straight line. Not the perfect skill set for rugby but I hung in there. A couple long runs n nice tackles if I do say so. Buy yea I always thought it was cool I introduced rugby to Joe. Joe was on my flag football team at the time. He's still playing 20+yrs later. If you can play rugby past 40yrs old ur the man. I still play BBall and flag football with the young bucs and Im still effective but how many plays could my knees survive full contact?????

Rugby Saint,
I played tight head prop for LSU, and was a charter member of the Baton Rouge Rugby Club.
I have been asked to play in lots of Old Boys games and my standard reply is that I still play in my dreams and am much better than I ever was, and I can walk in the morning

Then you might know Big Red(Bob Causey). He played for the American Eagles rugby team as well as Baton Rouge. I still see him occasionally at various Old Boy rugby tournaments.
