Re: Could Saints coaches be on the radar for other teams after NFL head coach firings? Here's who to watch
Carmichael is underrated, but overshadowed by Payton on that side of the ball...
Losing Dennis Allen would be the least impact, hit to the defensive staff; maybe upsetting the staff chemistry... |

If that ever happened, I'd look no further than Mike Nolan as DC. He is a big reason why the Saints have gone from historically bad to a respectful (mid 16 ranking) defensive team.

That’s the bad thing about having good assistant coaches. Every year someone’s going to try and poach a couple.

1- SP isn't really known for development: 10 years and Marrone is the only one on that list? ouch
2- Allen is the most marketable, but is a known quantity too: 8-28 lifetime record. He has done a tremendous job this year, but adding Lattimore, Klein, and Te'o hasn't hurt either 3- Carmichael might be too overshadowed by SP, as in the rest of the league might view him as an assistant OC, knowing SP makes the final calls |

Again, I don't think we really miss a beat if Allen leaves and we retain Mike Nolan, Ryan Nielsen, and Aaron Glenn...
Keep the draft from being the Sean Payton show, and we'll get those linebackers and another pass rusher... |

Del Rio comes to mind if Allen leaves. He would be a good DC or a good lb. coach if Nolan would become the DC. Carmichael would be hard to replace I think.

My concern is Nolan, Neilson and Gllenn could also be looked at for other gigs as well.
