Playing Safety at the NFL level is a bigger adjustment than Cornerback; just imagine how good Williams is going to be as he gains personal confidence and gain Coaches' trust...

Funny thing is as you point out with rookie CB on the field the saints have him playing the role as the last line of defense. His first responsibility is to prevent the big play and be the last player to make that tackle.
SS is still the area I look at that is the biggest reason Williams is not allowed some freedom. But with Williams being a rookie, it is a good thing that he can stand back their and watch things develop in front of him. Great for the learning curve. He has made almost all of those big tackles by being in the right plays at the right time. so far so good, he seems to get it. |

What's understated is how good the guy tackles also, he's a very impressive player all around. Has great hands, instincts and plays tough. That's all you can really ask for and more in a Safety.
