That\'s got to tell you that waiting WAS the right thing. Imagine that we had taken some of the metioned scenarios involving picks, like a 2nd from Dallas and THEN we saw this trade happen..... it would be :casstet: all over this board!
Glad to see the FO take a stand, let\'s hope it pays off.
Well the situations are different, but giving up a second and third might be acceptable to some teams. I don\'t think you can easily compare the Buchanon trade to a proposed Howard trade. So many variables are different. We are getting rid of a luxury player who would\'ve shared time with a younger player, while the Raiders were losing someone who\'s a definite starter. It\'s apples and oranges.

That swapping picks thing with Dallas is totally stupid though. Doesn\'t mean it\'s outside the realm of possibility though.

I still think a high second is pretty fair(#38), but the Saints are doing the right thing by gouging Howard\'s suitors.

Whoa...just in regard to the relative values of Howard and Buchanon...I was on another board when the \"Howard to Oakland for Buchanon\" rumor first broke, and a Raider fan from out in California posted to ask what Saints fans\' opinions would be about it. He was saying that Buchanon had fallen so far out of favor out there last season that by the end of the season he wasn\'t even always the second CB on the field when they were playing their base defense--that he essentially was being rotated with some other guy whose name I can\'t recall, but who obviously (if I can\'t recall it) wasn\'t a \"household name\".
