Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
Not really asking how you feel about it or if you do or don't want it to happen, I am gonna question how you feel the front office has handled it. Not asking if this compensation is fair or anything, just if you think they have been going in the right direction for it. Questions based ont he rumors and reports we have had:
1. Do you think Dallas' initial offer of a second was okay for us to turn down when our FO initially said all they wanted was a second, and then turn around and up the ante to Dat and a second? 2. If Oakland did offer Buchanon, do you think they did the right thing by turning that down if the report was accurate? 3. If Oakland offered number pick # 38 as reported, do you think it is right for us to have turned that down? 4. Andy Reid has said the Eagles interest in Howard was falsely reported, do you think that the Saints putting out smokescreens like this, if it is them, is the right way to drive up the price for Howard? 5. Lastly, a recent report is Dallas wanting to swap number ones for Howard. Do you think the front office is doing the right thing by waiting on that, or should we go ahead and do it? |

Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
#1. Yes
#2........Not Sure, might have been a good trade? #3. Yes #4.hmmm, If Dallas bought it, Then yes, it might get Dat thrown into the trade for fear of the Eagles getting him. #5. So we get #11 and they get 16 and Howard? If that\'s the deal then NO. Only because it seems that if we can work out the reported LT deal with Howard, it\'s better then moving up 5 spots. |

Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
1. As far as I know Dallas never made a formal offer. Even if they did: Yes.
2. No. 3. Yes 4. I don\'t think the people wheelin\' and dealin\' are affected as much by these rumours as the public. On the other hand every team does it. Right/wrong? It doesn\'t matter. 5. Don\'t swap number ones |

Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
1 = yes
2 = no 3 = for now yes (would wait until draft day and see then) 4 = don\'t know 5 = would expect a 2nd or 3rd rounder with it and even then would wait to see who was available at the 11th pick -- |

Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
Good and varying responses by all. I guess I missed the question I really wanted to ask which is, do you think with all these reports and various attempts to maneuver, we may have outdone ourselves in trying to get rid of Howard, meaning we may be taking a lowball offer or end up keeping him? I guess that\'s what I was driving it.

Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
If we trade him anytime after this draft, I want a first next year no matter who we trade him to, or a proven player. I really just don\'t want the front office to screw themselves out of a good opportunity to draft some quality depth. Or to put themselves in a position to make a move up should the opportunity arise. I don\'t mind waiting until draft day, just all these differing reports seem like overkill. And if Phillip buchanon can get a second and a 3rd for the Raiders from the Texans, Howard damn well better be in that neighborhood. I am also a no vote for the Howard to swap picks with Dallas, unless we get a second or 3rd with it.

Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
That\'s got to tell you that waiting WAS the right thing. Imagine that we had taken some of the metioned scenarios involving picks, like a 2nd from Dallas and THEN we saw this trade happen..... it would be :casstet: all over this board! Glad to see the FO take a stand, let\'s hope it pays off. |

Question for ALL about Howard trade-new style
Good call FN. I agree with that. I thought a high second from Oak was pretty good, and I stand by that, but not after seeing what they got for Buchanon. Uh uh. That changed my mind real quick. Whoever wants to say they were right, have at it. I don\'t think we can ge a first, but we better get a second and a third also at least. Or a player and a pick. That trade definitely changed my tune.
