I believe Payton's strategy is to play hard for field position in these games that are likely to be won or lost by a field goal. I think Payton has assessed the risk of using AK for kickoff's, & is willing to accept that risk for good field position. If Saints can keep the ball on the Panther's side of the field, we're likely to score more points and/or keep them from scoring. duh!

I don't think the strategy is to try & hit a homerun on every kick-off, because not every kick-off will be returnable. Especially when the kicking team knows AK can burn them, they'll try to kick it thru the endzone. But the kicks that are returnable, Saints have a good chance to keep the field position in our favor, or even take one to the house.

I think it's a good strategy.

I doubt he even gets to return anything after last week. Either over his head or away from him. Great for us because pretty much know the ball won't be going in his direction. I bet we focused on blocking this week with that in mind.

God help us if it's Tommy Lee Lewis.
