Would you turn your nose up at 60+ million dollars to retire at 39?

Me neither.

My eyes have seen a lot of Saints games and I thought I'd be dead before we ever won a
SuperBowl. Katrina hits and the next thing we are hearing is San Antonio. Those were
dark days as most here have lived through. Then this ex Charger QB comes to town
everything changes, no more Aints.
So yeah I'm hoping Drew sticks around for a few more years.

Brees will break every all time passing record before he retires. Make no mistake. He wants this. He is under 6 ft tall. He's never given the credit of the other QBs and all he can do to earn respect is to ball. After he breaks all of Peyton Manning's and Dan Marino's passing records, he'll consider retiring. Probably closer to 45 than 40.......Of course with a ring in 09 and 17 at least. WhoDat!

Say we and the Falcons win and he gets a NFC Championship game at home..wins

Goes to Minnesota in the superbowl wins

You could not have a better script to walk away

Wouldn't blame him either

But i think he would think

Get the rest of the records and more importantly

Why not back to back

At minimum he plays two more seasons to break Manning's Passing TD record, then his previously mentioned competitiveness kicks in and he tries to outlast Brady to retain the titles.

And bingo, there it goes. No way he retires after putting in a lifetime worth of work, then retires being so close to all time records. No way.

I feel this is the beginning of a 5 year window for the Saints. That means this year and then for the next 4 years, the Saints should be in a position to be considered Superbowl contenders. Brees should have a legitimate shot at getting 2 more rings, no way he retires if he stays healthy and effective.

He doesn't retire because he'll have the All-Time PaYd record probably by Week 4 of next year...

If he had that record, I do think he'd seriously consider retiring while on top, but not with so many records there for the taking...

After the season he just had? No way, superbowl or not, he actually has a run game to help now, he extends for 2 more years and retires a Saint, this season has secured that now.

Not at this point. If this was another 7-9 season I have no doubt he would have gone elsewhere. I honestly don’t think he’s lost much as far as his game. He’s just got a lot less to work with besides running game

I get the feeling he and Brady will play until 42 or 43 then they will slow down.

Drew's arm is strong and his touch is still touch.
I think Drew will be in Nola so long as Sean Payton is here, until Drew retires.

Actually, he has said on MANY occasions that not only is he planning on playing well into his 40's, but he is also going to play the rest of that career in New Orleans. I for one believe him. He has no desire to play anywhere else. Hell, he has no reason to play anywhere else. His best chance of continuing to win is with the Saints. Why go anywhere when the roster is built for HIM to win and anywhere else is a total unknown. That make no sense whatsoever.
