Gene Steratore is the referee for the Saints-Vikings game.
Saw this on another fan site so the comments aren't mine; thanks B-Train:
"For 2017, his Home Win % is .733%, which obviously doesn't bode well for us. The league average is .57%. That being said... I don't think that means it's a lock that the Vikings win just because they're the home team; if you look at the games he reffed this year it just so happens that the home teams usually were far more dominant than the visiting team (Browns at Ravens, Broncos at Eagle, etc). He doesn't seem to be known for any significant "questionable calls" or bad officiating... or even throwing TOO MANY flags. So it is what it is. Best team will win. His Home Penalty % this year is 44.81%, slightly below the league average of 47.89%. This means he throws less penalties on the home team than the away team. Previous Saints games he's served as the ref for include the Week 1 game at Minnesota this year. So he's doing the rematch as well. He also did the Giants game last season which the Saints lost. He reffed the Falcons @ Saints game in October 2015 which the Saints won, which is cool. One additional point I'll make is that he is only the HEAD ref. The crew will not be his usual crew but rather composed of other NFL refs that were picked for the playoffs. That's my understanding at least and it can probably affect things too." https://www.pro-football-reference.c...s/SterGe0r.htm |

as long as they call a fair game. Vikes are one of the NFL most grabby secondary.
But I fear Rogers desire for a story line like the vikes at home for the super bowl to counter the RATINGS SLUMP. |

Re: Gene Steratore is the referee for the Saints-Vikings game.
We'll see if it means anything on Sunday. We lost the penalty stat against the panthers, and we have had had several games where the penalties on 3rd down extended the oppositions drives, like a lot, so have to play a cleaner game up there against a good team to win.

Predicting if we lose he will have a hand in it by missing several critical calls.
