Re: Saw this on a Vikings Board message board
I've said this many times to Viqueen fans still crying over 'cheating' of 'Bountygate': The referees saw no violation of the rules, otherwise flags would have been thrown on the hits; The Saints gained no unfair advantage whatsoever by having 'bounties' (which incidentally, several NFL players on different teams said they do also); The whole controversy stemmed from Goodell being buttsore from the Saints D ignoring his warnings about the optics;
Simply put: Saints played Big Boy Ball and forced Favre into having a bad case of 'Happy Feet'. Saints win the NFC. Saints win the SB. Did I miss anything? |

Just saying. We have far too many of our own fans with the misconception, as well. |

Re: Saw this on a Vikings Board message board
To me this is a 50/50 game. Looking at both teams, I think the Vikes may have the advantage because they're at home. Scam put 350 on our defense last week but was not effective in the redzone. We also benefited from a couple of dropped passes, one that would've been a touchdown.
I'm not saying that the Saints can't beat the Vikes. I just think that this will be a tough one for both teams. I'm optimistic that the Saints can win, if they go to Minny and play their best football. That defense is tough. The injury to Peat may have a pretty big impact. He's solid. And we don't have much after Kelemente if someone else goes down. We need the running game to be good to have any sort of control in this game. If not, it'll end up in a shoot out like last week. I'll tell you one thing, I'm not looking past the Vikes. They're good. And though we're a completely different team than we were when we saw them earlier in the season, this is gonna be a tough one. |

We can't beat these @ssholes enough for drubbing us in our first playoff appearance...
Vikings are one of those teams we just can't beat enough times, badly enough... |

Keep it close and give Drew a chance to win it in the 4th. I like those odds.

I'm still pissed about 1987 and 2000.
They want to talk revenge??? We still owe them 1 playoff elimination! |

But i must admit the revenge factor does frighten me bit. It was more recent, but i doubt many if any players are still on the Minneapolis club. We have two. (punter and QB) A large part of our game plan in '09 is believed to be (true or not, it is believed to be) that we should hit Farve hard and often and at any opportunity - in short physically attack an aging but able QB. It was his last game. I hope they do not have a similar game plan against out aging but able QB. |
