this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Not to open up this can again but, I assume it is disturbing to the receivers to be led into huge over the middle hits and to have balls thrown behind them over their heads or at their cleats. Besides ...

Back to the original idea of this thread, I think that our receivers could have a huge impact this year. And also, to all of you haters of AB out there, consider that some of the incompletions that you see on his stat line are due to the disturbing amount of drops by our receivers. True, Brooks has made some of the stupidest mistakes ever (backwards 20 yard pass?) but I have watched so many games where AB has put his throws right on the receivers on third downs, and the ball has just gone right through their hands. Now that can\'t help his confidence. I have come to the point where I know that AB isn\'t going to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but I do think that if our receivers started catching the ball, that he could be consistent and solid. This will probably make a lot of people say \"what is this guy thinking?!?!?!\" but I still think AB can be the guy for us. Have some faith in the guy!

I really, REALLY wish some of you guys were around for the AB debates. I really do. Anyone know Seattle\'s receivers dropped FAR FAR more balls than ours did? Anyone see Seattle beat us down first game of the year and then make the playoffs? Anyone wanna tell Matt Hasselbeck, who had to watch another one of his receivers drop a game winning TD IN THE PLAYOFFS about poor AB\'s dropped passes? Please. AB throws FAR more terrible passes than his receivers drop good ones. Don\'t do this to me guys. We are two days from the draft andmy rehab was going so well. Danno, where ya at bud? I need some cynicism to get me back ont he right track.

OK here goes..... \" Maybe our receivers drop the ball because brooks has been blessed with the perfect QB body and A CANNON for an arm! \" Tell me how do catch a Cannon? Just a reminder...I like Brooks, but this is fun! [Edited on 21/4/2005 by StallworthFN] |

I remember the Hawks had the same problem , but Deuce still sums up my feelings. The Hawks WRs dropping FAR FAR more passes would be a stretch, though.
Don\'t forget all the false starts and plays called back that throw a QB out of wack. |

Beerman will get more playing time than Henderson. He played much more conistently at reciever last year and my bet is he\'ll become the number three guy for the Saints next year. The addition of Willians from SF and his league leading punt return yardage are the key thing that makes this happen.

OMG!!! Are you guys spawning? What QB are ya\'ll watching? And making excuses for him? My head is about to go :killtard: I quit. Brooks is the best thing we could ever have hoped happen to our offense, and anyone who thinks different is clinically insane. I give up cause to go back and pull all the info that proves these statements false, in th context of similar teams who overcome these problems, was taxing enough back then. It\'s amazing though these same arguments seem to make the rounds whenever the AB debates die down.

OK Take Stall, Henderson, Gardner, and the Beerman as 2nd, 3rd and 4th receivers, Line them up against any other 4 some of WR in the league, Does anybody match up on sheer speed! |
