Re: Was A Good Year
When the season started I was only hoping for a winning season and that at least a couple of our draft picks would be solid starters. After the second game, that looked like too much to wish for and I was just hoping not to be the laughing stock of the league again.
But since the second week of the division, the team exceeded everyone's expectations. We won the division, which was generally thought of as the best division in football this year. The draft class is considered by many to be the best of any team in decades. The Saints finally have a shutdown corner, a pro bowl level tackle and a dynamic running back that has the ability to score from anywhere on the field. And we were literally "in it" until time expired against the most well rounded team in the league in the second round of the playoffs. This team showed it has heart. It would've been easy to check out at half time. Or give up after being blown out in the first two games of the season. Or given up as the injuries just kept coming. But they didn't. They kept on fighting. I loved that and am proud to be a fan of this team. It was a fantastic year. Can't wait till next season. WhoDat!! |
