Re: 2011 Saints @ 49ers - The Sequel
I think we can all appreciate what the team did. They could have folded tent at 17-0 or at 0-2 early in the season.
I also think if I'm so pissed off I could spit nails and don't give a rats rectum about the NFL anymore until the Saints are playing again that there's nothing wrong with that. I'm a Saints fan, not a Roger Goodell's NFL fan... |

Re: 2011 Saints @ 49ers - The Sequel
I'm fine if we compete and lose. First 2 games, first Atlanta game, loss at end of season with title on the line at Tampa. What I'm not fine with is playing scared. The offensive line and Ingram showed up in the first half. The rest of the O including Drew played scared and that I refused to watch. First Saints game I have tuned out of in my life. The last time I saw us play that way was when the Ravens dominated us in 07 or 08. Fight and lose no problem. Play like a chicken and that's a huge problem.

Re: 2011 Saints @ 49ers - The Sequel
It felt very much like San Fran 2011. In some ways it was worse, in some ways better. If you were just watching as a fan of the NFL, wow what a game. But hey, as bad as this one stings, who'd have thought we'd even have taken a lead (oh wait, that kind of makes it worse).
I smashed my Cox remote. Embarrassing, yes. I couldn't change the channel after the game, and went to Cox today w/ my tail tucked between my legs. But then I think about how Drew must feel (Happy Birthday, by the way), or How Marcus Williams must feel. Or better yet, how Atlanta must feel (At least yesterday's game wasn't the SB). It felt like my g/f dumped me last night and I woke up this morning reminded that it wasn't a bad dream. I imagine Vikings fans woke up feeling like they had won the lottery. It's what we love about sports. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat. |

I can take losing. It's losing against all odds that gets to me.
