The Miami Herald reports that RB Ricky Williams is expected to return to the Dolphins this season, according to friends of his. If that happens, the chance of the team drafting quarterback Alex Smith with the No. 2 overall pick is pretty high. If this comes to pass, what kind of wrinkle does this throw in the top 5 picks? |

Ricky may be back.
kinda ancient news relevant to world of the nfl draft. saban now sez he is taking braylon edwards unless someone trades up for him (which he prefers). minnesota or washington are the likely up movers imo. in fact, i think both will, it is just a matter of who deals with miami and who deals with cleveland to get edwards and williams.

Ricky may be back.
This is the most bloated RB market I\'ve ever seen. Maybe we can sign Clarrett to the practice squad. heh

Saban and the dolphins front office are putting these rumors out. It\'s BS. They are trying to keep teams interested in Ricky, plain and simple. If they say, Rickt is retired, there is no way he is coming back, everyone will forget about him. But if they keep peppering the league with possibilities of him coming back, maybe some foolish team will trade for his rights, giving the Dolphins something basically for nothing. It\'s all BS.

i do think the smart bs strategy employed by saban though is saying edwards. he is the best player in the draft and one that several teams would move up for. he essential sez then if you want him ya goota come thru me, not cleveland or anybody else. frankly, i think he is the player to take anyway. get fason-arrington-barber in the 2nd or trade it for shaun alexander.

It\'s a good strategy. But if noone trades up, and Alex Smith is not there, they are gonna take Ronnie Brown.
