not a heck of a lot out there after Landry.
Lee is intriguing, but like the rest fits in the injured-or-head case category

Allen Robinson - WR

Tons of talent and only 25.

Roll the dice on Cameron Meridith. Maybe Garcon. Other than that agree, not much out there. We still have to Sign Coleman so thinking we don't sign any FA. We still have that WR we plucked from the Pats.

If we're gonna spend money at WR in Free Agency, Jarvis Landry and maybe Allen Robinson are the only guys I'd spend cap room on...

I really wonder if Carr can contribute.

As the article points out - an upgrade at WR or TE would be enough.

Why not? Joe Morgan had multiple chances.

WR Trey Quinn, SMU
Height: 6-0 Weight: 202 lbs

Some of the best hands in the draft with plus-route running and good toughness in traffic. May still be on the board in the 4th round.

Great Point - Conversely though, Saints may be wary of going down that road again, though I believe Snead has a better handle on his situation...

Boy, would have many people forgotten Snead's bad season had he completed that screen option pass to Kamara vs the Vikes - could you imagine?

That seems to be the early consensus on where he'll be taken - and I wouldn't have a problem with it...

Though I think the priority will be a taller target with a big catch radius for those third down conversion attempts and red zone scoring tries...

I'd love to see us get TE Dallas Goedert and WR Trey Quinn - but I know we've really got to get better in our front seven and some OL depth...

So far, the consensus I'm reading from y'all is y'all like to see either Jarvis Landry or Allen Robinson with no faith in Willie Snead to recover as a slot receiver?

Yep a big-bodied, sure-handed third down/red zone reliable target to take some heat off of @CantGuardMike...

Keep Slick Willie, but look for more talent. Landry is too much $, more than likely.

I don't think the Saints FO will entertain Landry's demands ($$), but I really thought he would be become the more polished NFL WR coming out of LSU ... even more so than Odell (DIVA but elite).

Hindsight is 20/20 but damn Allen Robinson and Landry were still on the board yet we chose Stanley Baptiste . Outside of Cooks, that was just an awful Saints draft, just awful.

I'm so thankful now for Jeff Ireland as Scout director.

We don’t really sign big name WR’s. In fact, Ted Ginn is the only one I can think of in the last 10 years. We like either drafting or taking unknowns and molding them into our system.

Great Point - I really believe we make a run at replacing Fleener with Graham, or the like, eliminating Tight End from our "Needs" come draft time...

Re: Saints position outlook: Michael Thomas has become one of the best receivers in the league, but New Orleans might look for other upgrades

Know a lot has been made of the slot, but if the Saints are truly shifting the Tight End focus to one of blocking, then I see the emphasis at Wide Receiver will be to sign another big bodied guy who can post up and win jump balls...

Knowing Payton though, I suspect Graham are some other Tight End is signed before the draft and we take a Tight End (i.e. Goedert) in the first half of the draft...

Austin Carr is no joke. Kinda shocked he didn't make the field this season but we got him too late. Great hands and the dude can jump. I totally see him taking over the slot.

Remember he played in the playoff game vs Vikings ? He took over for Brandon (neck injury). I don't believe he was targeted though.

There's only one thing with Ginn, he disappeared for far too many games.

I mean when he had a good game, he had a really good game and made huge impact plays, but he just vanished a lot of the time.

3rd downs were a struggle obviously. Snead just fell off the face of the earth, Brandon Coleman held the ball like a diva and payed the price multiple times.

We could do with one more impact receiver to take the pressure off Kamara and Thomas so often, that could be at wide receiver or TE.

Re: Saints position outlook: Michael Thomas has become one of the best receivers in the league, but New Orleans might look for other upgrades

We're a pick your poison kinda team and there were games where teams didn't man up on him and Brees made 'em pay...

Very few games were we actually shut down on offense; in fact, I thought sometimes Sean was outsmarting himself...

But as the stat shows, when Ginn was targeted, he rewarded the team and his QB...

So it looks like Jarvis Landry and Allen Robinson, for now, won't be on the Free Agent Market...

So do we look to Tight End to upgrade?

Yes. I'm still not ruling out Jimmy Dickens. 2 year deal at the right price, yes please. He'd be a HUGE 3rd down weapon and redzone target.

Sign a big, pass-catching tight end that can spread out opposite @CantGuardMike and let the other guys rebound this season (well, Ginn was fine as a flanker)...

They're some weapons that can be had with those fourth, fifth round picks as well, but I'd prefer to develop offensive, defensive line depth...
