(From Houston) The Saints wanted Brown or Thomas Davis and were afraid both would be gone. So they moved up to get Brown, a tackle Jim Haslett loved. Brown will play right tackle this year, putting Jermane Mayberry back in at his natural position of guard. Brown will be a Pro Bowl player. A nice move by the Saints to give up next year's third-round pick. Grade: B+
15. Kansas City selects: Derrick Johnson, OLB, Texas Grade NFL TEAM HELMETS The Chiefs had to go defense, and Johnson fills that need. The problem with him is that he is a run-around defender, a guy who doesn't take on blocks. Is he tough enough to be a star in the NFL? That's the question many scouts have about Johnson. If this guys is pro bowl caliber and actually lives up to it within the next three years I\'ll be ecstatic. I like the pick. I just hope he proves his worth immediately. Mayberry back to gurad and Brown at tackle, Bentley at center sounds like a great right side. Now let\'s look DEFENSE the rest of the way. Well maybe get a qb if we go offense again at any point in the draft.

Mixed feelings.
I love the pick, but we gave up too much. Well at least 3rd-and-1 looks a lot better than it did last year. Our right side just went from a D to an A in one season. Jacox-Riley, or Mayberry-Brown. Uhh, not much of a contest there. I bet the one person who loves this pick more than anyone is #26. |

I hate the move but to look at it on the bright side maybe we can get back a 3rd pick if we can trade one of these guys.
Kendyl Jacox, Fred Thomas, Darren Howard. I still hate that move but Lousy Loomis still have a chance to put up a great draft |

I actually like the move... we need big men up front who an play and a 3rd next year isn\'t that bad considering the draft next year doesn\'t look that great so far. Plus we edged out the Panthers from drafting him...

I have mixed feelings about this pick.
On one hand I think that this pick is absolutely ridiculous. I don\'t understand how Haz and the FO can trade up and then not do anything to address our defensive issues. That blows my mind. We have the worst defense in the league, and they do nothing to address that. I don\'t know, maybe we\'ll get somebody in the 2nd who will turn out to be amazing. On the other hand, I am pretty excited about this kid. He\'s absolutely huge (6\'6\" 315). He knows the game and can play with a lot of intensity. Also, drafting him means that we now have a solid RT, and can move Mayberry back to his natural position at OG. This should be a good upgrade for our offense, but I still can\'t believe we moved up and didn\'t take DJ/TDavis |
