I’m certainly not going to start some Browns hype train, but good for them. They’re off to a good start on their latest rebuild. Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, Corey Coleman and David Njoku is not a bad group of pass catchers. Just need to finally get the right QB.

Well, the Redskins were looking lethal at WR two seasons ago and they fell flat on their face...

The Browns have taken early Saints franchise incompetence to a whole another level...

On paper, Cleveland should be able to compete if they can add a good QB +they still have over 90M in cap space.

Good luck to Landry and the Browns. I'm pulling for that fan base.

Brown also traded for Tyrod Taylor.

I read something on BSPN that said "sources" are saying it will be one pick in '18 and one in '19, and neither will be higher than a third rounder.

I figured the Dolphins wouldn't have much leverage to squeeze much in the way of assets out of any team, but if that report is true, he came even cheaper than I would have expected.

I'm a little surprised he's apparently willing to sign with them. Guess it was all about the Browns money. It sure wouldn't seem to be for any other reason.

It’s a 4th this year and 7th next year.

That's good deal for Browns.

Yeah he will be expensive but that is cheap for that talent. All of a sudden they have a good Tandem in Gordon and Landry with a decent QB.
I'd pick the State Penn RB 1 overall and try to get the ND guard too.

Remember, this is Cleveland. They will find some way to screw everything up.

Who brings back a team and names them the Browns? People with no winning history is who. And the way that organization is run they can't win and should be moving in just a few more years. Cleveland.....where talent goes to die!

Haven't been able to determine if they've secured a new contract for Jarvis or if the 7th round pick is cond'l that he stays...

Miami came out good on this trade if they end up with the picks...

They got something rather than nothing, but I don't agree that they came out good on the deal. The Browns are giving up next to nothing, and they wouldn't have known what to do with those picks anyway, as we all know.

As far as I know they haven’t worked out any long-term deal. I saw suggested somewhere that the Browns could just keep him on this one year deal and if it doesn’t work out for whatever reason they can let him walk and probably get a 3rd round compensatory pick.

Now. Now. The Browns, under Paul Brown, were the most innovative and dominant team in the NFL. Then Modell fired Brown. As the Saints can attest to, stupid owners can produce decades of misery.

That’s a good deal that Cleveland made. They have the cap and they also picked up a QB. They have some weapons on defense now...Gordon, Landry, Coleman, and Njoku. This means that without a doubt Barkley is their 1st pick...that’s a damn good start to the off season for them. They could be the 2nd best team in the AFC North by the start of camp....at least potentially lol

Washington's running game was all over the place. The trade for Tyrod means Barkley has a strong shot at being a brown.

Browns made some good moves yesterday. I hope it works out for them. The fans deserves some good years after having theor franchise pulled out from under them and a decade of terrible owners and front office.

a 4th round pick?
Seriously, WTF is that?

In 6 months the Dolphins have traded their best 2 offensive players for 4th round picks

Seriously - 2006 NFL Draft, Pick #108, 4X First Team All-Pro Jahri Evans - Fourth Round...

Can't stress enough the value of Draft Capital - the more darts to hit the bullseye, the better your chances...

The Saints 2017 NFL Draft is an extreme, but excellent example of how having more picks in a draft can change fortune...

all due respect JP, but I'm guessing there have been more All-Pro's drafted in rounds 1-3 than 4-7

My point was that I would have expected Landry to fetch a lot more

This is true. compiling picks is one thing. Compiling low picks for players you should at least get one second rounder for is not the best way to compile said picks, when the 'hits' on low round guys are far fewer.

Jarvis Landry is a beast. Dude blocks like Hines Ward and has bigger hands than Odell Beckham. He produces period. Not necessarily the best fit for the Saints though. I'm this forum's biggest LSU homer so it kills me to ask? What does having the two best possession receivers in the league get you? It would remind me of Eric Martin and Lonzel Hill. LOL. I want DJ Chark.

Naw ... I would have never believed that .
