Re: Saints might have options at quarterback beyond draft's Big Four
Going to need to trade back or fill a lot of holes in FA to draft a qb. Needs on the lines, cb, te and wr trump a backup qb imo.

Re: Saints might have options at quarterback beyond draft's Big Four
Why even worry about it. This has been going on for what, 3-4 years now. He can still play, likely another 2 seasons which he will when he gets resigned so this decision is 3 years away IMO.
He just got us to the second tier of the playoffs. Almost to the NFC CG if not for some fluke brain freeze defensive fail. |

Taysom Hill may get a shot to win the backup QB role and could be Drew Brees successor. I think Peyton would love to have a weapon like that to play with at QB. I know it'd be fun to watch. Go watch his college film. Yeehah!

Re: Saints might have options at quarterback beyond draft's Big Four
The bottom line is Drew Brees is planning to retire after he secures every passing record in the books. That means 2 or 3 more years. He'll do it too. Watch out if we get another weapon at WR or TE. DJ Chark, Jimmy Graham, Jarvis Landry and it's on. A good late pick sleeper would be Russel Gage. I think he could be a Golden Tate type player.

Re: Saints might have options at quarterback beyond draft's Big Four
Actually he'll likely break the more significant passing records this year...
This is an impressive group of quarterbacks in this draft, but the window is NOW... And there's a few really good quarterbacks that'll be available via Free Agency... Sad thing is, Nick Foles was available via Free Agency and we signed... Chase Daniels?!? |
