With the 27th Pick, the New Orleans Saints Select...
QB/WR Lamar Jackson
Stop me if you've heard this one before: Larry Holder riled up people on Twitter. Oh, I wrote something about this last week you say? Congratulations on being a loyal reader, listener and viewer of "Dunc & Holder." We thank you. On Thursday, the NFL Network's Peter Schrager released his first mock draft, and with the 27th overall pick he has the New Orleans Saints selecting Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson. That sound you hear is the collective screeching car of Saints fans the world over. Naturally, Holder wanted to really get the juices flowing this morning and tweeted a link to Schrager's work with a bit of his own spin as well. read more on NOLA | |

Taysom Hill might be as fast as Lamar Jackson anyway. This won't be our pick. I'd take the best RB in the draft-Darius Guice. Who I really want later is DJ Chark. If we got Guice and Chark we'd have the best RBs and WRs in tge league. Arden Key in the 2nd rd would give us the best DEs in the league. Christian Locotoure in the 4th solidifies the D line and we're ready to roll.

OK. But I think Chark is just as good and will be a much later pick. Oh and in free agency I've targeted 2 players. Jarvis Landry and Tyrann Mathieu. I'll keep sayin, being an LSU homer doesn't mean I'm wrong. I wouldn't reach on Key but the talent is obviously there. I didnt mention Russel Gage a Golden Tate type, Darrel Williams a bruising RB with the best hands on LSUs roster, Will Clapp the 2nd best center in the SEC or Dontae Jackson a tall corner who's probably the fastest player in the draft. |

We are not taking Guice. We are strong at RB. Even Edmonds is a winner.
Goal is to get a couple of D starters and an OL. Rest of it is worthless. Unless we trade up, all those late picks straight to the garage bin so would not be surprised if we trade up to get back in the 2nd. Shelf life with Brees is like a fermenting pare. It is go time. |

Have to go with best. We can make another run with a play maker but not with picks riding the pine. Guice would be a great pick. Have to have the run game solid and take the workload off Brees like last season. If Guice is gone go Randolph and make us into a RB nightmare. Brees, two agile RB's. Good luck stopping that situation.
