I was looking at TE stats from every NFL team in 2017.

Fleener, Hill, Griffin & Housyowatchalic combined for 26 1st downs & 4 tds .

Jimmy Dickens - 34 1st downs & 10 TD's in a run 1st offense up in Seattle. Even at 32 years old, that's big time production. Imagine him back w/NO & Brees. He doesn't have to be "the man", just a red zone night mare & 3rd down target.

Remember in that Vikings playoff game, we could have sealed their fate if we would have only converted a 1st late in the game. I think Jimmy can help this team get over the hump offensively ... specifically in the red zone and on 3rd downs. Nick Underhill & a few other credible sources think the interest to return is mutual. If it makes sense (financially), he needs to come back & help us win another title. It's been too long :bng:.

Look at what Tony Gonzalez was able to do with the clowns at an older age and less talent around him. I'll admit I was a little sore at Jimmy right at first too. But I really don't give a crap about any of that anymore. He's human like me and just as likely to be imperfect. I want more super bowls, we all want more super bowls. If Jimmy can help us with that, and I think he could, then I want him back.

I am struggling with this one. Jimmy Graham does some things really well and other things really bad. We all know pretty much what they are. The bottom line is Jimmy is a stud in the red zone or on 3rd down. He's a valuable piece but at what price. I say play him at slot or WR full time. Why put him in a 3pt stance when he can't block?

I see a lot of folks speculating, but is there any word on how Drew feels about it? The return of JG may gouge his cut of the next contract.

Someone will want to trade back into the first for Jackson. Hopefully we don’t pull the trigger and reach for a pick. Instead we trade back and get multiple picks in return. There is no doubt we need to draft a TE.

I don't know... I never really agreed with the general consensus that Graham couldn't block.

He wasn't the best at it or the most willing to do it, but all-in-all, he was a capable blocker when called upon.

I'd be really happy if he came back on a affordable contract.

Mike Alstott couldn't block either. I'd still have liked to have had him.

Brees and Graham have remained close as far as I know. And there is enough cap to cover everyone. It is no issue.

If we weren't already paying Fleener starting salary then I could warm up to the idea.

Fleener will be post June 1 cut saving a few million. Won’t impact a potential graham signing.

Didn't the Saints FO just pay Fleener 3M a few weeks ago?

Not that I know of. Where did you see that?

Edit: Take that back. $3.8M of his $6.3M 2018 salary guaranteed on 2/7/2018. I was away on a cruise and totally missed that. Thanks!

I'd prefer to bring back Ben now that you mention him, I believe he's a free agent as well. A little cheaper and can block.

Gotta think that’s insurance in case they don’t land the TE they really want

It’s business and anything outside of that is nothing more than drama. Business is centered around the perception of value.

We seem to have changed lanes so to speak as a team and if Drew and Sean see Jimmy as a good fit and providing VALUE (cost vs preformamce) then who am I to second guess that?

Although it's hard to tell, last time JG was here Brees spread the ball around less than usual. Brees even would throw to him when teams were doubling him.
