Drew Brees, through his agent, can talk to other teams on Monday

If Brees is playing for the money, he will get a better offer from another team. If he is playing to win another championship, he will re-sign at a fair price for both sides. Shame it's had to wait this long...

Their is no rush to do it until it has to be done. The longer they can wait the more they'll know how it should be structured for the best impact. Signing a premier free agent could mean structuring a lower base salary figure this year with a larger signing bonus to free more cap space.

They'll probably do that regardless. Brees is going to want as much guaranteed as he can get. I don't think "waiting" is necessarily better. It's just annoying to hear all the BS that is going to swirl around until he signs. Wish they could've got it done before FA hit.

It is annoying to fans for sure, but they really don't care about that when it comes down to it. Twenty years ago the same type of things happened, but fans didn't get bent out of shape because they were totally out of the loop. No 24 hour per day football channels and no social media. I am from that old school and that is why I tune out all of that BS.

I can wait for things to happen when they do. I am getting much too old to hurry through anything.
